I used this with an iPad Air M1 to connect to a sound system to play music for a wedding. Worked as expected. Was able to charge iPad while using. Only wish that it came in black.

Perfect for streaming charging at the same time!

We were looking for a way to connect several audio devices to our iPad while keeping it charged during long TikTok Live streams. This adapter solved the problem perfectly. The audio quality is clear with no noticeable loss in sound, and it charges the iPad at the same time without any issues. It's small, easy to use, and has been very reliable for our live streaming setup. If you need both audio and charging through a USB-C iPad, I definitely recommend it.

A smart and practical solution for USB-C phones.

I picked up this Insignia adapter because my phone only has USB-C and I still use wired headphones in the car and at the gym. The built-in charging port is what makes it stand out from basic adapters. What I liked: Dual functionality: You can listen to music through your 3.5mm headphones and charge your phone at the same time. This is a game-changer during long drives or when battery is low. Good audio quality: It supports high-resolution audio with clear sound and no noticeable static or interference with my headphones. Convenient short cable: The flexible 3-inch cable gives you a little extra reach without being bulky. The white color matches most phones nicely. Compact and portable: Small enough to keep in your pocket or glovebox. Reliable performance: Works well with my Samsung phone for calls, music, and navigation audio. Minor drawbacks: Charging speed is decent but not super fast (it’s more like standard charging, not full PD speeds). Fine for maintaining battery, but not ideal if you need rapid top-ups. Build quality is good for the price, but the cable could feel a bit more premium. Occasional minor audio dropouts reported by some users (I haven’t experienced it often). Overall: This is one of the better USB-C to 3.5mm adapters with pass-through charging available at an affordable price (usually around $15–20 at Best Buy). If you need wired audio + charging on a USB-C device, it’s a solid buy and better than most basic adapters. Highly recommended for daily use in the car or gym. Would buy again!

A Long Shot That's Worked So Far (more or less)

Bought to "convert/adapt" the 3.5 mm plug coming from portable mini-speakers and into my laptop setup. It works fine. However, the Hitachi speakers were bought (& used during my Int'l MBA studies) in Japan for my "Disc-Man" in 1982. They were way ahead of their time (as was all Japanese tech in those days), and have extremely heavy magnets for mini (5"x3"x3") speakers. Only drawback is the speaker can take input up to 60W for full performance and the sound output of my laptop can't do that. So, on full volume, the sound is acceptable more as background music while sitting at my desk. That's OK, but I'm going to try the setup w/ my old (mid-1970's) 60W Pioneer receiver to see how the converter does pushing the full 60W. We'll see. I can say I'm happy so far w/ the price/quick delivery/ and quality of the Best Buy Insignia brand Audio Adapter. I haven't tested the charging capabilities of the item yet, but intend to.

Does what it says, but will not fast charge.

Bought this for a long road trip. I was able to use this to connect my wired headphones to my iPhone just fine. Charging does work, but it’s limited to slow charging when the cable is going through this device.

I purchased a new iPad to use with my band. I use an app called BandHelper to play backing tracks and lyrics. I tried an adapter from Amazon that had a latency issue where it would omit the first second or 2 of the track. We were only getting 3 clicks out of 4 from the beginning click track of a song. The Insignia adapter work “flawlessly” and wasn’t too expensive.
