Bought this for a small home server build, and it works perfectly for that. Enough oomph to run some OCR, a file server, and a home dashboard, with lots of headroom for more. Had to update the BIOS version to support a 13th gen cpu, but that's just par for the course.

This item is frequently on sale and I would recommend waiting for one to buy it. I was absolutely blown away by the performance and shockingly low power consumption offered by this CPU, especially when compared to Intel's higher-end Core offerings. This CPU achieves a nearly identical single-core speed as its contemporaries and competitors and uses less than half the power. Perfect for server use and beyond adequate—maybe even quite good—for desktop. Four cores is on the lower end of the spectrum for 2023 but the processor has not once bottlenecked my system. Thanks to the inclusion of onboard graphics, this is the only component that many desktops will need, and servers benefit from the low-power transcoding it makes possible. The included cooler is entirely quiet at low speeds under normal load, but makes a loud, tinny noise at full speed. It's good enough to keep the already-cool CPU within thermal limits. If you need to build a cheap desktop PC or you want a quick home server this is the CPU you are looking for. You won't even need to buy a graphics card. All told, my build including this CPU was under $330.

It was time to retire two of my 7 year old computers, so I used an I5-13500 in the first build, and was blown away with the difference between these 13th gen Intel and the 6th gen it was replacing. Used this I3-13100 for the second build, that the wife and kids use, and it is more than fine. I don't use it for gaming, but will handle 3 to 4 monitors with the onboard gpu. Pair that with current NVME drive, and it is lightning fast.

Outstanding CPU for the price. Churns through light workloads with ease and sips power. Makes a great small server processor if you can do without the ECC.

Hard to argue with the performance for the price. I used this processor for my workstation, and it handled everything I threw at it for a year. I passed it on, but I was quite satisfied with it!

I needed an inexpensive CPU and this was a great CPU for the money. I used the included cooler and was happy with the cooling and the performance.

Don't think.. it's just an I3 ... Remember there is first a Celeron then the Pentuim gold... Then the Core I3 , this is quite capable. I think it's better than the " other " brand competition, Especially in budget gaming. With the right motherboard this supports DDR5, and PCIe 5 bus... Consider that most entry level DDR5 runs at 4800 Mhz. Anyway this will handle quite allot... Look online for a " bottleneck " calculator. And see what types of video cards are a good match. You may be surprised. This version 13100 without the F suffix.. means it has on chip video.. this is nice for using your computer without a video card for general stuff.. maybe light gaming while saving up for a Graphics card. Yea I like it allot :)

Great processor for my new Plex Server. Plenty of power with Quicksync on a low wattage CPU at a great price.

Paid for new product, received open box. Was missing manual, sticker and had best buy packing tape over the packaging where it was previously opened.

I used this CPU in a build for a basic home computer. The CPU's computing power and integrated graphics seem sufficient for text editing, web browsing, etc. I got the CPU for $100. It came with a heat sink, fan, and thermal paste (sparingly applied to the heat sink). I used the heat sink and fan for the build, but I cleaned off the thermal paste and applied other paste. If this CPU meets your use requirements and you can get it at a good price, then I'd recommend it. However, Intel's 14th-generation CPUs are expected to use a different socket, so take that into consideration.
