i7-8086K is actually the best option of CPU less than $400. 6-Cores/12-Threads, and 1 on 5ghz.

This CPU was a great overclocker (5.2ghz 1.41v) and was the best performing CPU for gaming at the time of release. The 9700k is a better option now. But this is still a great CPU as well.

Excellent processor but a bit pricey not gonna lie. Had the extra money to get the 8086k, but if you're on a budget, the 8700k is equally as good!

I am a sucker for limited edition items however, there's nothing really limited about this except for the name. It's an i7 8700k through and through, the only difference is it's a "binned" cpu or cherry picked silicon. Functionally it boosts higher than a standard 8700 but and probably runs a bit cooler, but that's it. They should have called this a i7 8800k I bought it cause it is simply the best i7 you can buy right now, nothing more, there's nothing limited about it, just the packaging. If you want the fastest i7 you can buy right now then get it, otherwise save some money and get a 8700k which is basically the same thing.

I read reviews about this CPU being overpriced and not delivering its promised speeds, but I have been very pleased with my unit. Performance is smooth even running several resource intensive apps simultaneously. I can say I do not regret my purchase on this for one second.

Product was reviewed by various people on youtube and saw that it ran a little hot so i opted for something a little less powerful. still a great chip though and doesn't hurt that itll have a good resale value due to it being an anniversary

Over clocks at 5GHZ out of the box make sure you have a good CPU cooler because this CPU can run hot. I upgraded from a i5 4670k... wow just wow.

Fastest chip out there right now. I used a 280mm AIO cooler with it.

Intel - Core i7-8086K was a good buy at the time of its release and has worked fine and continues to do so.

Limited edition anniversary processor. The 8086 celebrates the 40th anniversary today June 8, 1978 to June 8, 2018. Additionally the 50 years of Intel are complemented by the 5 GHz boost speed. Doubly commemorative perhaps. I was in the market to build a new computer and along came the 8086K processor. Hello new component for my new build. This is nostalgia in a shiny new box. And RIP Andy Grove. Thanks for all the years of x86.
