After nearly three decades of whizzing across the videogame landscape, the spiny speedster streaks onto the big screen in this engaging mix of live action and animation. Having breached the barrier into our universe-specifically, small-town Montana-Sonic (voiced by Ben Schwartz) gets the help of a sympathetic cop (James Marsden) in outrunning the pursuing feds and their hired gun, crackpot scientist Dr. Ivo Robotnik (Jim Carrey). Tika Sumpter, Adam Pally, Neal McDonough also star. 100 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack English. Two-disc set.

Blu-ray. A searing indictment of police corruption based on a story by noted crime novelist James Ellroy (The Black Dahlia), Dark Blue stars Kurt Russell as Sergeant Eldon Perry, a Los Angeles police officer faced with a choice so monstrous it will affect his personal life and the lives of those around him while cutting through the heart of the police department. With the jury verdict in the Rodney King case looming in the background, Perry and his partner Detective Bobby Keough (Scott Speedman, Underworld) will be drawn into a cover-up by their commanding officer, Jack Van Meter (played with frightening malevolence and wit by Brendan Gleeson, Edge of Tomorrow) for a robbery gone bad. Murder for revenge, double-crosses and complicity lurk around every corner in the tension-filled Dark Blue, a terrifying glimpse inside the hearts and minds of people who have been anesthetized by the inherent corruption around them. Dark Blue, directed by Ron Shelton (Bull Durham) from a screenplay by David Ayer (Training Day) co-stars Ving Rhames (Mission Impossible), Michael Michele (How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days), Dash Mihok (The Thin Red Line) and Khandi Alexander (TV's CSI Miami).

Falsely accused of shooting an unarmed man, rookie New York City cop Megan Turner (Jamie Lee Curtis), while trying to clear her name, becomes involved with Eugene Hunt (Ron Silver), a handsome commodities trader who quietly holds the key to her innocence. She'll soon find out that Hunt is a mad serial killer who has been carving Turner's name into bullets and using her gun to kill people. Clancy Brown, Elizabeth Peña, Louise Fletcher also star in this super-charged thriller from director Kathryn Bigelow. 102 min. Widescreen (Enhanced); Soundtrack English.
