iOttie - AutoSense Wireless Charging Universal Dash/Windshield Mount for Mobile Phones - Black

The iOttie - AutoSense Wireless Charging Car and Desk Mount - Black is a purchase we have now made several times as a family to use in almost each family vehicle. It's a please to get into the car and mount your cell phone into a charger that senses your device and welcomes it immediately. Phone retrieval is equally convenient by pressing a well placed button on the back of the device that provides an auto release function. The ease of use made me go back again, and again to purchase more for additional family vehicles. Interestingly, the last sale price that I saw was $49.95 which is not bad when the regular price is $64 and change. The mounting options are decent; however, I am confounded about why they don't put three mounting options (CD Mount, Vent Mount, Dash top Mount) in one package as opposed to having to choose between a CD mount-Dash top mount combination (such as the case with this model) or CD mount-Vent Mount. I have not found the CD Mount to be reliable option for me based on the way that the mount usually falls down over time. The dash mount is solid, though especially secure for those who do not mind applying the disk with integrated adhesive to their dashboard. 10W wireless charging seems to perform as advertised and the overall quality and sturdy design is also appreciated. Aside from the mounting option limitation, my only issue with the design is that the cigarette lighter car adapter is not connected by USB A on the adapter itself. It's a hard wired configuration that should the wire become damaged, the problem cannot be easily remedied by merely replacing it with an USB A to TYPE C/Micro USB cable.

This is by far the best purchase made especially for when I travel 5+ hours each month. The setup is easy just plug-n-play, and it charges your phone pretty well. It's mostly hands free the only time you need to touch the device is to hit the release button and when you wanna put your phone in it just bring it near and it'll open for you. Beware the adhesive is SUPER strong and sticky so read directions first because it won't come off easily.

I’ve used the previous model and it worked great. The manual grasp is much better in my opinion bc it doesn’t require the vehicle to be turned on, quick and easy in and out of the holder this way. The only downside is micro USB port on the back not being angled down. Over time the vibration of driving and hitting bumps caused my old one to go faulty after about a year.

This product works good and I would have given it a five star but it doesn’t always open when you put your phone in front of it. You might have to pass it in front of the eye a few times so the arms open up to hold your phone. Also, the charging cord could be about one or two feet longer to reach your receptical in your center console. I really like that the plug has usb port on top of the plug so you can plug another item on it.

My first initial search for a phone mount was for strictly for somewhere I can put my phone versus in the door handle nook. While I didn't want to spend too much money on a phone mount... I was attracted to the appeal of what the iOttie mount offered. My first thought was that it is smaller than I would've thought it would be, which is a good thing. The qi wireless was a bonus since I wasn't looking for one but managed to neatly tuck in the cable to keep it as hidden as much as possible. The AutoSense feature is a very nice touch and works really work with not too many issues. Holds the phone very securely and hasn't failed on me so far. Charges fairly quickly and doesn't overheat my phone. The dash plate that comes with it is very secure, but you only get one shot at installation otherwise I don't think it'll be as effective as it should be. So be prewarned. Overall, it's worth the price for the many features it has to offer.
