Iron & Wine - Light Verse - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

2013 from the Post-Punk trio. The band spent most of 2012 writing, recording, and painstakingly mixing the 10 songs that comprise Jinx with Monte Vallier at Ruminator. During this time, Weekend relocated cross-country to the already heavily saturated Brooklyn music scene. The trio had collectively grown weary of the trappings of home. Durkan states, InchFeeling at home is evidence of stagnation and so I'm happy to say New York still feels alien to me.Inch Despite the drastic change of scenery, he maintains InchGeographically-based music scenes are for the most part defunct due to the internet but I don't think we'll ever be part of any scene. We stand on our own.Inch

2018 EP. Iron & Wine follow up their Grammy-nominated full-length Beast Epic with Weed Garden, a collection of material that began about three years ago. The six-song EP features songs that were part of the writing phase for Beast Epic, but went unfinished. They were part of a larger narrative for principal songwriter Sam Beam, who ran out of time to get them where they needed to be for inclusion on Beast Epic. Weed Garden also includes the fan favorite InchWaves of Galveston.Inch While on tour last fall, the final pieces of material took shape and a sense of urgency prevailed in bringing these characters full circle. To resolution. To completion. In January, Beam and company hunkered down in Chicago at The Loft recording studio to capture these six songs. No more, no less. Weed Garden joins the good company of previous Iron & Wine EP's - The Sea and Rhythm, Woman King, In the Reins - and in 2018's attention-span challenged world that's not a bad thing.

2015 , a collaboration between two of Americana's most respected singer/songwriters. Longtime friends Ben Bridwell of Band of Horses and Iron & Wine's Sam Beam unveil their first ever collaborative album, Sing Into My Mouth, a homage to 12 songs that have had indelible influence on both of it's creators. Classics interpreted range from Talking Heads' InchThis Must Be the Place (Naive Melody),Inch Sade's InchBulletproof SoulInch and El Perro del Mar's InchGod Knows (You Gotta Give to Get)Inch - the original having recently been featured on HBO's Girls; to deep cuts like Them Two's InchAm I a Good Man?Inch
