Isaac Darche - Team & Variations - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

2017 . After meeting in November 2013, Ed Tullett and Novo Amor (Ali Lacey) quickly began writing to form the basis of what is now Heiress, their full-length collaborative record, out November 10th via AllPoints. Recorded around the of their two widely lauded collaborative singles (InchFauxInch, 2014 and InchAlpsInch, 2016), the pair worked sporadically in intense week-long sessions in Cardiff spilling over Lacey's old and new home-studios, tearing songs down and building them back up again. InchHeiressInch is noticeably the product of nearly 4 years work - sprawling, ambitious and strikingly deep, it's a collection of songs both meticulously calculated and deeply felt. The record swings between delicate, poetic falsetto and vast walls of towering beauty - something single InchCavalryInch does all on it's own. InchSilveryInch is a vital, grandiose inauguration, and the magical InchTerraformInch a celebratory realisation that you're back on your own Earth again. Both are solo artists in their own right - Welsh alt-folk artist Novo Amor's second EP InchBathing BeachInch, was released in May after a string of stunning self-released singles, whilst Oxford-born and Brighton-bred songwriter and producer Ed Tullett's 2016 album Fiancé precedes a flurry of upcoming solo, collaborative and production work.

Raised in the cosmopolitan port city of Jaffa, now a significant presence on the New York and international jazz scenes, formidably talented award-winning trumpeter Itamar Borochov takes inspiration from the stirring melody-driven Middle Eastern sounds which have surrounded him since his childhood by the Mediterranean, tracing his journey to the energy-infused streets of New York. The nine original compositions on Borochov's fourth album celebrate an emergence from a time of hopelessness and loss to a recognition of faith in the radiant life-force.1. Abraham 7 102. Hardly anyone knows Damia today, a famous French singer and actress who is considered the model of later world stars such as Edith Piaf, Barbara or Juliette Greco. In her chansons, Damia almost exclusively sang the life that in her case had tragic elements, which is why she received the nickname Inchla tragedienne de la chansonInch (the tragic figure of the chanson). The singer was idolized between the world wars, but increasingly forgotten after the occupation of France by the Germans. InchDamia's story and her repertoire touched me very deeply. She had her own style and was the first 'Chanteuse realiste' in our country,Inch Elodie Lauton explained the motives for InchOriginis,Inch her second album after the much-respected crossover project InchTerminal B,Inch which she released in 2012 with the group Goldamour. For the homage to her idol Damia, Elodie assembled a number of outstanding European musicians. The result touches and goes directly to your heart. Chansons in her native language with this very special, subtly swinging jazz touch.
