What Do We Do Now is the fifth solo studio LP recorded by J Mascis since 1996. Using his own Bisquiteen Studio in the waning days of the pandemic, J started working on writing a series of tunes on acoustic with a different dynamic than the stuff he creates for Dino. InchWhen I'm writing for the band,Inch he says, InchI'm always trying to think of doing things Lou and Murph would fit into. Usually, I try to do the solo stuff more simply so I can play it by myself, but I really wanted to add the drums. Once that started, everything else just fell into place. So it ended up sounding a lot more like a band record.Inch Western Mass local Ken Mauri (of the B52s) plays piano on several tracks, while Toronto musician Matthew InchDocInch Dunn's steel guitar manages to both widen and soften the musical edges of the music, giving it a full classicist profile. What Do We Do Now is the finest set of solo tunes J has yet penned, and the way they're presented is just about perfect.

Limited edition of 333 numbered copies on turquoise coloured 180-gram audiophile vinyl. The Fabelmans is the 2022 American coming-of-age film directed by Steven Spielberg. It is semi-autobiographical story loosely based on Spielberg's adolescence and first years as a filmmaker, told through an original story of the fictional Sammy Fabelman. The film features an ensemble cast, including Gabriel LaBelle, Michelle Williams, Paul Dano, Seth Rogen, and Judd Hirsch. The Fabelmans won the People's Choice Award at the Toronto International Film Festival, where it celebrated it's world premiere. It received five nominations at the 80th Golden Globe Awards, including Best Original Score. The soundtrack is composed by the iconic John Williams, who has composed some of the most popular, recognizable and critically acclaimed film scores in cinematic history. The score for The Fabelmans marked his 29th film collaboration with Spielberg and the 50th anniversary of their first film. Williams revealed that this might be one of the last films he will score before retirement.

J Mascis' TIED TO a STAR, the follow up to his acclaimed Sub Pop debut SEVERAL SHADES OF WHY, will be available on August 26th in North America. The album, led by the songs 'Every Morning' and 'Wide Awake,' was recorded and produced by Mascis and mixed by John Agnello at Bisquiteen in Amherst, MA. Tied to a Star also features guest appearances from musicians Ken Maiuri (Young@Heart Chorus), Pall Jenkins (Black Heart Procession), Mark Mulcahy (Miracle Legion) and Chan Marshall (Cat Power).
