I recently received a new MacBook Pro and it only had USB-C ports, and I needed to connect it to "regular" USB Flash drives using the A-connector. Worked perfectly, can even boot using this device. Compact and works good on Mac and my new PC 2-in-1 laptop(and yes, can boot on there too). Short cable allows for flexibility and preventing things from sticking out too far. I have not tested this using audio interfaces that require power, MIDI interfaces,or my DMX lighting interfaces yet. I also have not attempted to use it with my USB-3 video capture device. It should work fine with any of my other powered gear.

Purchased the Type C to USB 3.0 connector to use the port and works just fine. No issues or problems encountered The adapter seems to be heavy duty and not very large to me is helpful.

Had to migrate my files from my old iMac to a new Macbook Pro and wow did it move fast from the USB 3.0 External drive to the MacBook Pro via this USB-c to USB 3.0 adapter. Any 2016 or newer MacBook Pro owner needs one of these to connect with the old world technology.

Great for new laptops with USB C onboard and legacy peripheral devices such as storage. Terrible solution for legacy laptops with standard USB connections to connect to USB C peripherals , as you would need to purchase additional cables to make it work. I found a USB A to USB C cable on Amazon. None were available at Best Buy at the time.

What can you say about a cable. Frankly it works as intended. I have yet to find any issues of speed or lack of compatibility with it. Will buy another as a spare...

Technology is constantly finding was to improve. The USB being on of the great ideas, but it is going to small is best. This will allow your current flash drive to connect to new devices with the new C type ports.

In order to "sideload" data or programs onto the new Apple TV 4th Generation, you need some way to connect to the USB C connector on the Apple TV. If you're like most people your USB external or flash drives all have the old USB Type A connector. This j5 adapter is perfect for connecting those USB drives to the new Apple TV - works like a charm.

Works great with my new laptop, as I have my mouse, printer and external drive all hooked up to the J5 and to my laptop.

This adapter is great for simple tasks. I didn't feel it necessary to buy the big guns, I really just needed something with a single port for plugging in a usb to upload documents. Haven't had an issue. Just a bummer my MacBook doesn't even have 1 USB port, instead Apple makes you spend more money on the necessary additions.

Gave me a quick way to convert a USB C connection to a USB 3.0 - I plugged it in and it was automatically recognized by my Asus Vivobook with Windows 10. I have been using it for two weeks now without any challenges.

It sits very stylishly on my desk at work, and doesn't seem to give in to repetitive bending at the plug joints.
