His style ranged from country rock through to rockabilly and the sub-genre of deep-voiced rock 'n' roll ballads which brought him his biggest hits, scoring Top 10 US and UK successes with InchMy True LoveInch, InchWhat in the World's Come Over YouInch and InchBurning BridgesInch. This great-value 60-track 2-CD set comprises the A & B sides of his 22 singles for the ABC-Paramount, Carlton, Top Rank and Capitol labels during this era, plus all the titles from his albums InchJack ScottInch and InchWhat in the World's Come Over YouInch which were not otherwise released on singles, plus selected tracks from his album InchI Remember Hank WilliamsInch. T - Psychoanorexia - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

This is the time when ringtone applicability equals musical quality. This is the place where the greed of being a popstar has replaced the sublime experience of creativity. This is the era in which democracy means mass phenomena, not choices. When we have become too lazy even for subterfuges. And too busy to feel the loss.

Jackie Wilson - Complete Singles As & Bs 1952-62 - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Jackie Wilson earned the nickname InchMr ExcitementInch for his performances as one of the most dynamic and electrifying soul singers of the '50s and '60s, with an extraordinary four-octave vocal range and an ability to deliver up-tempo rockers and dramatic semi-operatic ballads with equal credibility and panache. He made his first solo records in 1953 under the name Sonny Wilson for Dizzy Gillespie's Dee Gee tag, before joining Billy Ward & The Dominoes as a replacement for Clyde McPhatter, when the latter went solo. Wilson, in turn, embarked on a solo career in 1956 for the Brunswick tag, scoring a landmark hit with his first InchReet PetiteInch, and going on to chalk up fifty hits before suffering a disabling heart attack in 1975, which ended his career, with thirty of those hits coming during the years covered by this collection. Great-value 55-track 2-CD set comprising the A & B sides of all his singles during the era for the Dee Gee and Brunswick labels, which as well as InchReet PetiteInch features the Top 10 hits InchTo Be LovedInch, InchLonely TeardropsInch, InchNightInch & InchAlone At LastInch along with his other chart entries from the era. Also included are bonus tracks from six of his albums released during from these years. It's a worthy showcase for a unique talent
