Plagued by tragedy with the most haunting music to show for it, Frank's life can be heard through his music, which has been covered by the likes of Nick Drake, Simon & Garfunkel, Fairport Convention, Bert Jansch, John Renbourn, and many others. While never fully recognized as one of the great musicians of the '60s, Frank clearly had his fans. Frank's recordings span four decades of a hard-lived life, and every experience, every trial, is reflected in his voice. If ever a person's individual journey could be traced through his music, it's Frank's, and The Complete Recordings is nothing less than a representative map of the artist's high points and deepest, most shadowed valleys. The Long Run is the sixth studio album by the American rock group The Eagles, it was released in 1979, on Asylum in the United States and in the United Kingdom. This was the first Eagles album not to feature their founding member, Randy Meisner who was replaced by Timothy B. Schmit. This was the last studio album until 2007's Long Road Out of Eden (though four studio tracks were included on 1994's Hell Freezes Over) and the final studio album for Asylum Records. When released in September 1979, The Long Run debuted at #2 on Billboard's Pop Albums chart and a week later hit #1 dethroning Led Zeppelin's In Through the Out Door. It was their last #1 album of the 1970s, and reigned for eight weeks in the #1 slot. Around the Fur the follow-up to Deftones' passionate, aggressive Adrenaline, sees the California quartet expanding on the sheer rage of their earlier work, adding new, more sinister shades to their already extreme sound. The opening InchMy Own Summer (Shove It),Inch serves as an introduction to the album's sonic theme sinewy guitars and eerie whispers alternate with fast, violent crunch. Sepultura's Max Cavallero contributes guitar and vocals to InchHeadup,Inch while InchMXInch finds singer Chino trading off vocal lines with Annalynn Cunningham, (wife of Deftones' drummer Abe) in an acerbic take on the rock star mentality. Vocal acrobat Moreno attacks a variety of styles his breathy, psychotic recitations sound downright industrial, while the album's calmer, more brooding moments show his gift for haunting melody. Behind him, guitarist Stephen Carpenter's heavy wall of sound is astoundingly muscular, yet inspiringly agile. When Deftones' hellish fury hits full tilt, as it always does on this album, Moreno's voice erupts into screams which are best described as otherworldly, transforming this intense musical firestorm into a hurtling juggernaut of aggression.
