About this product
2018 . Deviant Motions is the third record from Michigan's ethereal-alternative rock artist, Jake Allen. He spent five laborious years crafting the album, interwoven with continuous nationwide tours opening for and playing in the Sony Masterworks band, The Accidentals. Allen, who is primarily known for his percussive fingerstyle guitar work and visceral solo performances, goes deeper into the vastly melodic territory he began exploring in his 2011 LP, Etherica. Playing all of the instruments and producing the record himself, Deviant Motions came to be an impenetrable wall of sound. Supporting the albums fourteen track sequence is an underbelly of impressive instrumental prowess. Throw in some tasteful violin and cello performances by The Accidentals and the result is a dynamic record that will be embraced by pop music listeners and discerning prog-rock connoisseurs alike. InchAllen's masterful guitar work and polished production in the 14-track album deserve rewarding accolades.Inch -No Depression.

The story of this record isn't all that different from a thousand others out here. Songwriter Steven Lambke (also of The Constantines) formed a scrappy band of talented friends (Daniel Romano, Shotgun Jimmie, and David Trenaman and Colleen Collins of Construction & Destruction) when their schedules allow. At the tail end of winter the band heads to a big rural house overlooking a vast body of water. Wood is burned, dogs S**t, wind howls. Meals are cooked and people sing, play instruments, and a record gets cut. Serendipity trumps bad luck. What is different on this record is the way it's stories are told, what they describe, and the undeniable joy with which they're played. It is a record full of natural imagery, domestic narratives and ragged characters trying to patch a wound of meaning on the world. This is a rock band shaking it's wet fur dry, pulling it's boot from the mud and driving another mile to the other side of some fast and reckless youth, to some place a little scarred but settled, holding very little, outside enough love to matter and the knowledge that InchThere ain't no road sign at the corner, kid. You just have to know the way.Inch

Liszt devoted more than half his output to the transcription. This latter covers a vast field of compositions, from the symphonies of Beethoven to Berlioz, Bach, Lassus and his contemporaries, as well as his own works. Here Elena Rozanova brings together some of his transcriptions of lieder by Schubert, Schumann and Chopin, well-known or not so well-known, that have cradled her childhood. From these virtuoso pieces we can feel the art of Liszt, who manages to preserve the quintessence of the original works and to transcend the word, even though it is absent.
