About this product
Flock' is the record that Jane Weaver always wanted to make, the most genuine version of herself, complete with unpretentious Day-Glo pop sensibilities, wit, kindness, humour and glamour. A consciously positive vision for negative times, a brooding and ethereal creation. The album features an untested new fusion of seemingly unrelated compounds fused into an hum; pop music for post-new-normal times. Created from elements that should never date, it's pop music reinvented. Still prevalent are the cosmic sounds, but 'Flock' is a natural rebellion to the recent releases which sees her decidedly move away from conceptual roots in favour of writing pop music. Produced on a complicated diet of bygone Lebanese torch songs, 1980's Russian Aerobics records and Australian Punk. Amongst this broadcast of glistening sounds is 'The Revolution Of Super Visions', an untelevised Mothership connection, with Prince floating by as he plays scratchy guitar; it also features a funkySide A HeartlowThe Revolution Of Super VisionsStages Of PhasesLuxModern ReputationSide BFlockSunset DreamsAll The Things You DoPyramid SchemesSolarised

The second full-length album from Jane Weaver, Cherlokalate Inchspins songs into fragile and sparkling lullabiesInch (The Guardian). Inspired by cult folk artists, from Karen Dalton to Linda Perhacs, these ten songs create a unique commentary on personal travails through happiness and pain, all brimming with passion and sorrow. An intimate journey of ethereal folk sweetness, elevated by gorgeous production, aching pedal steel, violins and, in parts, a mutated take on VU-styled rock.InchImagine Julie Driscoll locked in a studio with American Spring and Broadcast.Inch Uncut

Originally released in 2002, Like An Aspen Leaf is a breathtaking smoky folk opus spiked with Americana longing. Nuanced with the help of members of Elbow, Voice Of The Seven Woods and Andy Votel, it emanates from a baroque pop netherworld, soundtracked by songs of regret, pinpricked by evocative melodies and sumptuous harmonies, and peppered with plaintive swathes of cello and a suitably meandering piano that lurks behind Jane's minor chords. Now remastered for the modern age, Like An Aspen Leaf is a bewitching seven-song set filled with aching melancholy. InchThese are urban poems, reflecting frailties in urban landscapes and finding great passions hiding between the lines of everyday conversationInch The Guardian Five Star!
