Customer Ratings & Reviews

Okay. For starters if you want something with some good sound and good bass compared to the normal mid range speakers, this is it. This thing is bigger than your usual speaker. I was looking for something with some more bass than the current JBL Extreme 2 I have, and this blew it out the water, of course over $150 the extreme price. Your able to download the JBL app so it helps you control a few EQ settings, including bass, but why lower that with the price tag on this thing. I live in an apartment and after a few days of use, I had to make a hard decision and say I'll return this because to listen to it at its full potential, the walls vibrate and it'll just be a complaint issue for me or my annoying neighbors. lol. Even if I drop the bass down fully using the app, it is just right to an extent, but with those settings, I'm basically at where the JBL Extreme 2 I have is, with maybe 10% more bass. So overall I'm returning this because I don't go out enough to use it, but it was a hard decision because I love the bass. This thing at a little outside hangout or beach would make it seem like you have an actual system with you, but for me, $500 for maybe a few outside uses a year is not worth it due to my living conditions. But if you use a lot outside for work or etc., have a home where neighbors wont be an issue due to the space next to each other, then this is it for you. Who knows, I have only had less than a week, maybe I might just keep it to have so when I do have those times I go out or we have family gatherings or beach days, then this speaker will be it. But for my general in home use in an apartment, I'll stick with my Extreme 2 I've had for the last year. That is on sale for $200 right now because they are on the 3rd version. Extreme 2 is greater than Extreme 3 because it allows you to answer and talk through your phone on the speaker which #3 does not, just FYI. Battery life is great, also depends on how loud you use it. I opened it a few days ago at 60% and only at 40% with a lot of use/testing.

Fantastic speaker. Purchased this model in-store for my partner for X-Mas after comparing physical feel/sound and online reviews of this model to JBL and similar brands' other models. He had wanted a speaker like this one for a long time. This one in particular had the most crisp sound at the highest level, great perks with: the bluetooth connection, portability, water resistance, and more. The size is absolutely perfect to make it versatile. Every other option I found personally was either too small to pack enough of a punch, or too large to be portable and personal enough. My partner and I both have been pleasantly surprised. You can use this speaker in just your bedroom, or your whole house! Your office, your gym, your classroom. You can use this speaker poolside and easily cover a pool party. This speaker would work nicely in a home theater, home and normal office, living/gaming room, in your vehicle, on picnics, or wherever you can imagine filling a room with quality sound. The battery lasts a LONG time. My partner turned it on right out of the box (soon after lol) on X-Mas, and the existing charge lasted all the way until yesterday 01/21/2025 (28 days) with average use. He has complimented the purchase of this speaker several times since receiving it. He's even stated it reminds him of back in the day, him walking around with an old-school boombox but with modern tech and aesthetics. That alone would be worth the price, but I highly recommend this speaker/boombox for all of the technical reasons I've listed as well. If you don't believe me, go test this baby out in-store! I promise you'll agree with me in no time. Especially if you're looking for a speaker for your partner, let me influence you for a moment. Look no further! BUY THIS SPEAKER.

This little boombox is amazing! It is ridiculously loud and the bass is phenomenal. It’s heavy and durable feeling but not quite too heavy to be too cumbersome. It’s pricey but well worth it. I haven’t charged it in forever and it’s still going. If you’re looking for a Bluetooth speaker and don’t mind the bigger size you won’t regret it.

Okay let start with unboxing, it got very cool artwork on the outside of the box with all the jbl logo and people jamming out, getting inside everything was packaged very well you get a nice cloth for the speaker, taken it out was super easy but however it so heavy 15 pounds for a speaker, i turned it on in the car and played some music at 50% and i fell in love with it right away with the new speaker setup in the boombox 3 and it probably by far the best sounding speaker the bass is so deep and powerful that it was litterly shaking the car mirrors i was blown away the mids were super crystal clear and the highs were a little but too high but it was clear, the build quality on the speaker is super premium which is what you would expect on a high end portable speaker, the fabric is super tough does not flex at all, it does get little dust in it super easy though but it is water proof dust resistant making it a great speaker for outdoor! When your outdoor you dont need to worry about your phone battery going low because it has built in usb ports to charge your phone! Definitely worth buying the boombox 3

The speaker is very loud i can hear the bass and feel it throught my house i would say as soon and you get this speaker let it charge for the first time before turning it on so the battery can work at its best ability over time also note that it uses a different type of charger so always bring it because its needs the charger it came with but you shouldn’t need to carry thw charger everywhere becuse you have 24 hours of battery life. The subs on the side of it make this speaker so much better and also seeing the power and bass of your music also remember that older music does sound a lot more quiet depending on how old your music is because they didnt use the same technology they do now for feeling more bass like lil bossie music is kinda more quiet on this speaker. I would recommend not putting this speaker in water or even touching it but thats my opinion but this peaker is water resistant not water proof so dont go swimming with it lol. But its good in the rain and is safe if gets a little splash but personally i will not be putting this speaker near water. Also remember this is not just your typical boombox this speaker is a investment and is made to show off its freaking nice as hell omg and loud very good speaker

Capable of producing decently full sound in large rooms and outside, with a moderate battery life at mid-high volumes and a decently solid waterproof rating, this is a great option to use around the house and on the go. It has a decent connection range to match the sound it can throw. It weighs a little more than many portable speakers, but it’s not inconveniently heavy in most situations for me.

This JBL speaker has fabulous sound quality. The price was comparable to the Monster ad Bose’s I purchased a few years earlier. The bass range is full filling and add surround sound to any room. Once the battery is charged the battery life is longer than I thought it would be. the I take it to the park, beach and whenever I travel via a vehicle. It one of the best wireless speakers if not the best.

I couldn’t be happier with my JBL Boombox 3! I use it mostly during my sons’ taekwondo tournaments, often held in large convention centers—and even in those big, open spaces, the sound is crisp, powerful, and perfectly clear. The bass hits deep, the mids and highs stay clean, and it easily fills the entire area without distortion. Pairing with any device is instant and seamless, and the portability makes setup effortless wherever we go. It’s rugged, reliable, and delivers unmatched sound quality for its size. I’m so impressed that I’m planning to buy another one—sometimes both my sons need their own for separate events! JBL really nailed it with the Boombox 3. Highly recommended for anyone who wants big sound on the go.

I had always had JBL speakers like the flip or charge and decided to get this bad boy. I can tell you no regrets whatsoever!! Decently loud and bass is awesome at just half the level, now turning it up all the way is even better but to be honest I find myself not using it that loud because it’s already great at a not so loud level. Yea I crank it up at the pool when the whole party is here or even in the back yard but after everything dies down I usually put back onto mid volume or lower. Amazing bass and clarity is there. I’ve purchased this boombox 3 in 2024 so for a speaker that came out in 2022 is pretty decent it’s lasted me up to date May 28 2026. Still hitting hard!! Here in the images I have it sitting next to my new boombox 4 bought this one for my brother. Who knows I might keep the newer one lol but seriously comparing both they are very similar. The newer one seems to sound louder by a bit. Would still get the boombox 3 any day now that I see them going on sale different places.

The Boombox 3 carries the heft and presence you’d expect from a flagship “party” speaker. Its rugged exterior with reinforced corners, durable grille fabric, and a robust metal handle (with silicone grips) immediately communicate that this is meant for real‑world use. It hits the sweet spot between “durable” and “premium” not overly flashy, but confidently built. It’s IP67 rated, which means it’s both dust- and water-resistant (so it can survive splashes, rain, or dusty outdoor settings). Many users praise its resilience in outdoor settings and say they feel comfortable taking it to beaches or poolside.

This is one of the most fantastic and satisfying purchases I've made in a long time. The sound is incredible, the bass hits hard and the battery life is beyond expectations.

Love it. Pretty loud and great sound overall. Easy to pair and pretty long battery life. Heavy but in a good way. My only negative is the occasional Bluetooth connection static even when my phone is within feet of it.

If your into music and love excellent sound with a kick then buy the boombox3. Its like having an old school boombox from the 80's without all that extra jazz to make it sound better because it's tuned to perfection already. I couldn't believe yhe clarity and bass at the same time that comes out this box. Absolutely amazing sound, and if you have a iphone you can still go to your music settings and change the type of sound you want to hear......plus by downloading the JBL app you can control extra settings like turn up the bass, treble or mids. My nextdoor neighbors have outdoor barbeques and always have a big party speaker pumping sound but now I'm pumping my pumping 180 watts of dynamic sound. Its a must buy

This JBL is impressive, a perfect and well-balanced sound, each instrument is heard separately, its perfect bass, the perfect equipment for your home is heard very loud JBL Boombox 3

The boombox 3 has very deep bass! It’s actually a tad bright for me so I turned down the highs one notch in the app. But if you are looking for loud, this can do it. Battery life is also very good. Ive only charged it once over the past couple weeks with some intermediate use. It pairs nicely with my JBL Charge 5, to create a fairly wide sound, even though it converts the signal into mono unless paired with the same speaker. Great portable speaker/boombox!

Impressive sound quality. Nice bass. Has a sleek, modern look to it

This speaker is an absolute monster when it comes to bass, this boombox has the same bass as an entire subwoofer because it has one! This speaker has a 3-way speaker system, 1xSubwoofer 2xMidranges 2xTweeters stacked on top of the midranges, this speaker is the best for indoor and outdoor use, good bass with the best sound quality you will ever hear. You can also take advantage of its EQ settings in the app made for this speaker, 10/10 highly recommend!

The best purchase I've ever made. It's wonderful. Powerful sound. The best thing is the price for how good and comfortable it is to move. Absolutely 10/10

Sounds loud and the bass is great. Easy to carry around and use. I’ve had this speaker for over 5 months and to this day it still works and sounds perfect. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for something loud and easy to carry around.

This is the best speaker long time battery very loud and really good quality honestly the best
