A: Under the default settings, the Yamaha RX-A780 is configured for 8Ohm speakers. You're unlikely to hurt the speakers, using an 8-ohm receiver with 4-ohm speakers. This just means that for a given voltage supplied by the receiver, the receiver is rated to send less current than it will have to power the 4-ohm speakers, so this is much more likely to hurt the receiver than the speakers. JBL HDI1600 6.5" 2-way bookshelf loudspeaker with 1" compression tweeter, gloss black finish, each

R3 Meta redefines bookshelf speaker’s performance. Sharing the same drivers as the range-topping R11 Meta, the R3 Meta is a true three-way design. It has a 12th generation Uni-Q driver array with MAT and a powerful 6.5” hybrid aluminum bass driver that pushes performance to the extreme.

The JBL Studio 665C is a high-performance center channel loudspeaker utilizing JBL's 2414H-1 1-inch compression driver mated to a High-Definition Imaging horn complemented by quad 5.25-inch PolyPlas cone woofers. The elegant cabinet design includes a magnitically attached grille and brings an element of sophistication to any room. The Studio 6 Series delivers big dynamics, detailed sound, and powerful bass for true high-fidelity sound.

When it comes to physical technology, LS50 Wireless II takes its lead from KEF’s LS50 Meta passive loudspeakers. A truly revolutionary tool in the KEF acoustic armoury, Metamaterial Absorption Technology1 (MAT) is a highly complex maze-like structure, where each of the intricate channels efficiently absorbs a specific frequency. When combined, the channels act as an acoustic black hole, absorbing 99% of the unwanted sound that comes from the rear of the tweeter, eliminating the resulting distortion and providing a purer, more natural sound.

I’ve heard and owned many standmount speakers, many of which are sold out of Best Buy’s premium Magnolia department. These are unequivocally, without of shadow of a doubt the most detailed and dynamic standmounts that you can buy from Best Buy. Bowers Diamond series can’t hang, Deftech doesn’t make anything remotely comparable, neither does Martin Logan. KEFs R3 is a gem of a speaker (seriously fantastic and a built to feel a bit more premium) but can’t hang in terms of dynamics, headroom and sounding “natural”. The JBLs can play at 96-100db with extremely low compression/distortion so those who’s systems see movie playback will be very happy. I can’t recommend these enough.
