Big upgrade to the 1000s. They are just tiny bit louder and hit little deeper than the 1000 but not by much. But if you are into the light show these are solid. Also the bluetooth connection whit your phone and on party mode connection with other speakers is drastically better than the 1000s. You can walk anywhere around your place with the phone and the connection wont stop unlike the 1000s. Highly recommend. I dont know about 1700 a speaker but for 999 which i got it for its absolutely worth it.

This product was not delivered on my porch. It was left on the walk way, 2 ft from the street. It was stolen from the walk way and best buy is making me pay for them. This delivery was not delivered on my porch and no notification was sent to me saying it has arrived. It was left on the walk way for someone to steal. This was poor delivery and best buy said they couldn't help me. I'm not paying for anything i didn't receive. Best buy is wrong for this
