About this product

Orange colored vinyl. Blow by Blow is Jeff Beck's 1975 solo album and considered one of his best releases among fans and colleagues. Former Yardbirds sideman Chris Dreja had predicted in 1965 that Beck's current sound '... was 1975.' In a glowing review on Allmusic, Mark Kirschenmann said that 'Blow by Blow ranks as one of the premiere recordings in the canon of instrumental rock music.' As an all-instrumental album it was a surprising commercial success, with a jazz fusion-like approach seldom seen on best-selling lists at the time. It was certified Gold in 1976. The album was produced by George Martin and recorded at his own AIR studios. Martin also composed string arrangements for two of the tracks, InchScatterbrainInch and InchDiamond DustInch. Stevie Wonder returned the favor of Beck's work on his 1972 LP Talking Book, by playing on InchBlow by BlowInchand contributing the song InchTheloniusInch. As a big admirer of fellow guitarist Roy Buchanan, Beck dedicated the track InchCause We've Ended as LoversInch to him. Album Tracks 1. You Know What I Mean 2. She's a Woman 3. Constipated Duck 4. Air Blower 5. Scatterbrain 6. Cause We've Ended As Lovers 7. Thelonius 8. Freeway Jam 9. Diamond Dust

The 14 live performances on Jeff Beck Live+ were recorded at multiple venues in 2014 and feature Beck backed by his band vocalist Jimmy Hall, bassist Rhonda Smith, drummer Jonathan Joseph and guitarist Nicolas Meier. The quintet explored Beck's vast catalog-which stretches across five decades-with performances of 'Morning Dew' (from Truth, 1968), 'Superstition' (from Beck, Bogert, Appice, 1973), 'Big Block' (from Jeff Beck's Guitar Shop, 1989), as well as two Grammy-winning tracks his cover of the Beatles A Day In The Life' and 'Hammerhead.' Live + concludes with two new studio tracks 'Tribal' and 'My Tiled White Floor,' with guest vocals from Ruth Lorenzo and Veronica Bellino, respectively. These aggressive new songs mark Beck's first studio recordings since 2010 and show a stark departure from the sound on his previous album as the guitarist continues to push the envelope of musical innovation, just as he has his entire career. Jeff Beck - Guitar Shop - VINYL LP
4.0(1)

Limited 180gm audiophile vinyl LP pressing. Beck's Guitar Shop is the fifth studio album by one of the most influential lead guitarists in rock, Jeff Beck. Together with keyboard player Tony Hymas and drummer Terry Bozzio he recorded this album. They won the award for Best Rock Instrumental Performance at the 1990 Grammys for this . The instrumental fusion tunes are diverse and on no other album Jeff tried out mixing so much musical styles. His excellent guitar play and the memorable melodies marks this as one of his finest albums. 'Behind the Veil' is a subtle song, leaning on a reggae groove and Beck's lower register statements. The more sensitive tune 'Where Were You' makes Beck almost sing the melody on his guitar. The album is wonderfully produced and a strong addition to his impressive catalog.
