Live archive . On A Monday Evening is an unreleased (and never bootlegged!) 1976 concert recording of The Bill Evans Trio, featuring Eddie Gomez and Eliot Zigmund, captured live at Madison, WI's Union Theater. The 12-track album offers both contemporary compositions from that era, as well as longstanding signature tunes of Evans', and includes new liner notes by Grammy Award-winning jazz historian Ashley Kahn, with commentary by Gomez and Zigmund. A jazz legend, Evans' use of impressionist harmony, inventive interpretation of traditional jazz repertoire, block chords, and trademark rhythmically independent, InchsingingInch melodic lines continue to influence jazz pianists today.

'Autumn Jazz' includes selections from the great composers including Ellington, Mancini, Darin, Mangione, Rodrigo and others. While mostly jazz, a few of the tunes may be considered smooth jazz or pop. Most of the music is quite 'snappy' but a few rock- bluesy tunes are included as well. If you find yourself snapping your fingers and tapping your toes, we have achieved our goal. If you like Herb Alpert and remember Dave Brubeck, you should enjoy this album. As is always the case, the style is unique to Arrival.
