Jeremiah Fraites - Piano Piano - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Named by Musical America as the 2018 Composer of the Year as well as the most-performed composer of his generation, Grammy-winning composer Mason Bates is widely renowned for his pioneering practice of creating music for conventional performing forces enhanced by electronic sounds. Of the two works presented in this remarkable album, Mass Transmission- in it's world premiere recording- is a particularly winning example of Bates' use of Inchelectronica,Inch blended here with music for mixed choir and organ. 'Sirens,' lacking electronica, still achieves mesmerizing vocal effects through it's complex scoring for 12-part a cappella choir. Grammy-winning choirmaster Ragnar Bohlin and his superb chamber choir Cappella SF deliver astonishing performances that will not only thrill Bates' growing legions of fans, but serve as an ideal introduction to Bates' unique electronics- enhanced music for those unfamiliar with his art.

Beabadoobee returns with her 4th studio album 'Pylon'. Written on the road whilst supporting the acclaimed and chart topping 'This Is How Tomorrow Moves' and crafted with collaborators including Hayley Williams, Turnstile's Brendan Yates, Chino Moreno of Deftones and Pinegrove's Evan Stephens Hall, 'Pylon' touches on classic grunge, midwest emo and '90s radio rock, zeroing in on a sound that is both more intense and more direct than any of her previous records.

The debut album by the spearheads of Doom Metal On their debut InchJourney To The End Of The NightInch, Green Carnation (who back then featured illustrious guest musicians such as the Botteri twins from In The Woods... and Vibeke Stene from Tristania) combine Black, Death, Doom, and Heavy Metal to a unique style that is hard to compare to other bands. At best, you could describe the Psychedelic Doom Metal on InchJourney...Inch as a cross between Pink Floyd and Candlemass.
