About this product
With his simple, accessible sound and signature laid-back style, JIMMY REED was just about the most commercially successful Blues artist in the USA during the 50s and 60s. He was also a hugely influential figure on the emerging European and American Blues Boom of the early 60s, notably the Rolling Stones. The companion to an earlier Jasmine (Ain't That Loving You Baby, Singles, As & Bs, 1953-61, JASMCD3034/5), this unique set is largely drawn from Reed's Vee Jay LP's, Rockin' With Reed, Found Love, Now Appearing, Jimmy Reed At Carnegie Hall and Blues Is My Business. A number of these sides were unissued at the time they were recorded, and later turned up on Charly compilations. Although there are no actual hits herein, this is all classic, vintage Jimmy Reed repertoire and many of these sides would have made it, had they been issued as singles. Album Tracks 1. Shoot My Baby 2. You Upset My Mind 3. I Ain't Got You 4. Come on Baby 5. When You Left Me 6. Untitled Instrumental 7. It's You Baby 8. Do the Thing 9. State Street Boogie 10. My Bitter Seed 11.
