Nice upgrade from the $10 keyboards provided with work laptops. Does everything I need and feels a lot better than the membrane keyboards that are pretty much given away. There is a slight adjustment curve with regards to Home, End, Pgup, and Pgdown, but it's not a huge issue and I'm sure it will become second nature after a time. The large volume dial sure beats looking for the volume toggle on the taskbar or trying to adjust some on-screen slider. Back light is a nice touch and is adjustable for brightness and duration via JLabs Software. If you're purchasing to use with a work computer and can't download from unauthorized sources, this isn't a problem. The 2.4 gHz Dingle can be connected to any personal computer, you run the software there and make settings adjustments that will carry over when you use it elsewhere. It can connect to 3 devices though I imagine I'll really only use it with my work laptop. Only knock I have is that the back light, under less than 100% brightness, emits a noticeable high pitched tone until the back light turns off. Not sure if it's just mine or an across the board flaw though.

This keyboard isn’t too loud and sounds good. It has a nice backlight and it connects easily to your devices. The only think I don’t like is that it does leave finger prints a bit

I like the height of this keyboard the usability is also nice. I recommend purchasing a keyboard gel pad as it does sit a little higher . The back light display is nice. One thing I did notice is the on and off switch at the top left side does not shut off the back light if the keyboard is touched as a matter of fact nothing is deactivated when the switch is turned in any direction. I could have had a defective device, but I kept the item anyway.

This is my favorite keyboard ever. It has the right "hit" when typing. I discovered my love of this type of keyboard when I was trying to help my son do something on his gaming PC and I said oh my gosh," this is my keyboard " so when I found this one that I could use for work I was extremely happy!

[Employee of bestbuy] Tried the keyboard for a few weeks and like the design and keys along with the volume knob, battery life on a full charge is decent. My main issue which makes the keyboard useless is the fact that it keeps disconnecting from its wireless adapter and we are talking about no more than 3ft away. Computer doesn’t have Bluetooth so would need to buy another component just to make it work but defeats the purpose of its own wireless adapter.For these reasons I can only give it 2 stars

TL;DR: This is a solid keyboard, but there's a few quirks about it that amounted to me removing one star. To begin with, I love the way this thing looks. It's great for an office or workstation setup - the white backlight is crisp and clean, and the design is elegant and unique without being gaudy or garish. The metal plate behind the keys, the glossy top bar, the minimalist design keys, they're lovely. The feet for this keyboard are lovely. Stable. Two options for height, which is always nice. The ability to connect to two different Bluetooth devices, as well as one using the dongle, is great. I used this with my living room computer, via Bluetooth, and had no connectivity issues. Mechanical keys are always nice, too. Once you go mechanical, it's hard to go back to membrane. I have had no issues with the battery life, either. It's been holding up great. Haven't had to charge it from the box yet and I've been using it daily for a week. A few things, as I mentioned. For starters, a pretty minor one, for most, I imagine: The dongle that comes with this keyboard is USB C. If you don't have a USB C port on the device you want to connect this to, your only other option is Bluetooth. I'd prefer USB A, as my PCs don't have (functioning) C ports, but maybe that's just a me problem. The next issue is the keyboard's auto shutoff. I think auto shutoff is great for conserving power, that's not the issue. The issue is that it takes all of what feels like 30 seconds for it to decide to shut itself off. Take a little too long thinking about your wording or fact checking something means it'll disconnect. When you press a key, it'll take several seconds for it to turn back on and reconnect. It's not THAT big an issue, but it's certainly obnoxious. The mechanical keys are... not my favorite. The packaging, as far as I could find, did not mention what switches they use, and I'm inclined to believe they're proprietary - they're purple in color, and, while they're not quite spongy, they're not quite as tactile or responsive as I would like. They are quiet though, which is a major plus, but even so, I'd prefer a slightly louder keyboard if it meant the keys felt better. I should also mention that the space bar has what feels and sounds like a standard blue key switch - loud, clicky, tactile. Overall, this is a lovely keyboard, and I would highly recommend it for situations where you'll be doing lots of typing. I wouldn't categorize this as a gaming keyboard.

So far this JLab Epic Mechanical keyboard has been a pretty well performing keyboard. The aesthetics of it are nice as it carries a very clean look. The connectivity is great, offering a wide array of items to pair with. (I am currently using it for my home office computers keyboard and also for my ipad.) The ability to instantly switch from one device to the other with a press of a button is a really nice feature. I personally wouldn't use this keyboard for gaming, as I have alot of gaming keyboards this doesn't feel as 'sharp' as those; However, with that being said; I am really liking it as my office keyboard. I can feel each press of the key and hear the click/clacky afterwards which i rather enjoy when typing. For that alone I am digging it. The keyboard has a few bells and whistles as well, one being it has a built in knob type control for your music (volume, pause); The unit also allows up to 18 programmable keys utilizing their software, allowing for fine tuning of how you want to use the keyboard. Pros Mechanical feel keyboard Well lit Dedicated buttons for device switching (Wireless, Bluetooth (1), Bluetooth (2)) Volume control on deck Programmable keys using App Cons The oddly behaved 'sleep' feature for whatever reason; (the device will go into power saving and then require you to wake it back up at some undisclosed amount of time; not sure if there is a setting hidden for this, but it is a bit annoying having to spend an additional 5-10 seconds reconnecting every time you walk away or watch a video, it really does start to become cumbersome. Personally i think if i want to kill the battery leaving the device connected for longer periods of time that should be a feature included in the software... perhaps a firmware/software update will be released in the future that includes such a thing. So having said this, the reconnecting power save feature is not a deal breaker or makes or breaks this keyboard, it is just something to actively remember so as to not be bothered by it. Is it a good keyboard? I would have to say yes, I would definitely put it up in my top 20 of usable and enjoyable keyboards, as I mentioned it has a great feel when typing (for me anyways) and since I do a lot of typing, the battery life is outstanding as well. I think this will be a nice feature to my office for quite some time.

JLab’s new Epic Wireless keyboard is a low-profile mechanical switch keyboard that’s designed to be versatile - supporting a wide array of computers, connection types, and operating systems functions. It also offers a nice mechanical feel, and the reliability that comes with that style of switches. It’s back-lit, lightweight, wireless, compact, and is a full sized keyboard. Is this flexible piece of tech for you? Read on. The JLab box sports the JLab signature blue color. Opening it up reveals pretty much just the keyboard, 2.4Ghz dongle and power cable. It’ll be necessary to charge the keyboard first, but I was able to use it pretty quickly from unboxing. The keyboard charges from USB-C, but unfortunately does not operate as a wired keyboard in this mode. I feel this is an unfortunate miss, but the connectivity is excellent, so perhaps it’s a non-issue. The keyboard is made quite nicely. Attempting to twist the keyboard reveals a pretty solid structure. The top of the casing appears to be aluminum, adding to a solid feel. The keys are backlit with 10 levels of brightness. Keycaps are ABS, and immediately get a bit shiny. I know PBT is a lot to be asking, but it would age a lot better. Keys feel pretty light, and fairly quiet. You’ll notice immediately that these switches are somewhat of a Cherry style low profile. The switch manufacturer is Hauno, and they are a brown style switch with a tactile bump. Typists and gamers alike should enjoy this key. It isn’t clicky so you wouldn’t annoy your cubical neighbors. I did fine the stabilized keys a bit on the loud side, but individual keys are fairly quiet. Connectivity is excellent. This isn’t just to say it's got a wireless dongle and bluetooth. It supports that, and two different bluetooth connections; but also it has operating modes that match the OS. Are you using a mac and want to do the thumb tuck salute? No problem Cmd maps natively to left and right Alt after pressing Fn+Q which shows (in small letters) Mac. It also supports Windows (obviously) and Android key mappings. The OS settings stay with the connection, so that makes swapping between your PC, Mac, and Android tablet fairly seamless. The function row on thai keyboard is very prominent, which may make you want to use function lock (FN+Esc) to keep these functions at the touch of a button. Some functions don’t work on some operating system modes; such as the calculator on Mac. However JLab publishes this in the manual (downloadable from JLab’s website). Expose mode is fully accessible on a mac via F3, and Windows 11 swaps to the virtual desktop management mode and notification centers for F3 and F4 respectively. There is some basic customization that can be done with several keys specifically where Print screen and Scroll lock have been traditionally located. This customization can happen with the dongle, but not any of the bluetooth modes. I found via bluetooth the settings icon would swap to italic on a Mac, and the screenshot would start screen shot clipping mode. Useful, but less obvious; with no real way to customize. The volume knob is a nice touch. While these are getting more common on keyboards, JLab’s implementation is especially notchy and has a good feel. It’s easy to grab and turn, and the only downside is that it’s a bit crowded by the connection keys. I haven’t had any issues with that, but i could see hamfisting my way to a different connection while trying to change the volume. Key feel overall is about as good as low profile mechanical can get. I was able to achieve pretty close to my 80WPM cruising speed on this keyboard. I’m not a huge fan of LP keyboards that aren’t scissor switches. I was a fan of the butterfly keyboard - at least insomuch as its typing experience. Coming from a full sized mechanical, these switches feel shallow, unstable, and not as satisfying. That said, they’re still mechanical switches offering full white backlight and multiple operating system mapping. They feel better than dome keyboards, and you may find you prefer them over scissor switches. So is the JLab for you? Well, if you’re looking for a premium backlit keyboard, and you want to support multiple devices, then the JLab might be for you. If your looking for a good gaming keyboard, I’d look elsewhere, unless you’re specifically looking multi-os. The low profile mechanical keys seem quite solid, but you’ll find that MX compatible stems won’t fit, and I’m not certain if I could find low profile, backlit pbt keycaps for replacement, as I find the ABS get pretty shiny with daily use. That said, for basic office use, and multi-device connection, I found the JLab performed quite well. This is another great product from JLab.

This JLab Epic Mechanical Keyboard is a great choice for those who are searching for an affordable mechanical keyboard with the basics. Yeah, it’s not the most fancy looking mechanical keyboard, but this keyboard will get the job done. This is my review of the JLab – Epic Mechanical Wireless Keyboard. *TLDR at the bottom ========== IN THE BOX: In the box, you get a full-sized keyboard, a USB-C dongle, a USB-C to USB-C cable, and some documentation. Something I am not sure about is the USB-C dongle. I am not sure if I like the design of the USB-C dongle. It is low profile, which is nice, but pulling the dongle out of a port does take slightly more effort and grip due to the smooth surface. There is also no place to store the dongle on the keyboard. But if you were to store away the keyboard, you could place the dongle in the USB-C slot. ========== BUILD QUALITY/COMFORT: Most of the keyboard appears to be made with higher quality plastic. The keys are easily removable and are made of this “rubberish” feeling plastic. The “rubberish” feeling likely is due to the coating these keys have. I know with ABS plastic keys, when they get worn down, they develop this shiny look. I am not sure what type of plastic these are made of, but it appears that whatever plastic is being used, should be able to last significantly longer compared to the cheaper kind of plastic. Overall, this keyboard seems to have a good build-quality that’s on par with the price. The keyboard is lightweight and raised a little higher than what I am comfortable with. If I were to use this keyboard full time, I would certainly invest in a wrist rest. I tested this keyboard while gaming, and while working. In both situations, while I did not feel any wrist discomfort, having my hands raised slightly from the norm is a bit cumbersome. Of course, your mileage may vary. I have medium-sized hands and limited desk space, which may have been a factor. ========== FEATURES/ JLAB APP: This keyboard allows various connections (up to 3 devices). One with the dongle and two with Bluetooth. There is no wired option. Hard wiring this keyboard will only charge the keyboard. My PC has only one USB-C port so I needed a USB-C to A adapter to be able to both charge and use this keyboard. The backlight on this keyboard is bright. I tested the keyboard while on the brightest setting, and one item that surprised me is that the battery life on this keyboard is incredible. I have not charged this keyboard since turning it on, except when testing the hard-wired capabilities, which I did not do for too long. In terms of sound, the keyboard is quiet enough to not annoy the person next to you. The media knob is a nice touch and has a nice feeling to it. The JLab app is lightweight and simple. There is not much to it. The only reason to download the app is to program hotkeys, which for the most part are the keys located on the top row. Brightness and the backlight off timer can also be adjusted with the application. ========== GAMING/OFFICE PERFORMANCE: This is not necessarily a gaming keyboard, but I did use it in some of my gaming sessions. I mostly used this keyboard while playing Rise of the Tomb Raider. There isn’t any input lag, but for a competitive gamer this keyboard would not be a wise choice since there is no option to customize the actuation point on the keys, which is a critical need for some gamers. I am more of a casual gamer and felt fine while gaming on this keyboard. But honestly, I do prefer the feeling of actual gaming keyboards and the customization options. I would consider this keyboard an office keyboard. I work from home, and this fits the office vibe more than anything else. The default hotkeys on the top are already mapped to do a lot of the office functions you may need: calculator, screenshot, moving between windows, etc. While the keyboard is not the most comfortable, I have used, typing on it feels fine and it is fairly quiet so if you are in an office, you won’t annoy the person next to you. ========== CONCLUSION/TLDR: Overall, this is a fairly epic and affordable mechanical keyboard. It may not have all the bells and whistles that some other mechanical keyboards have, but the ability to program some keys, long battery life, and the ability to connect to multiple devices gives this keyboard an edge over others in this price range. I found the keyboard to be raised a little too high for my comfort, but this can be easily solved with a wrist rest. If you require an affordable mechanical keyboard, I recommend you give this one a shot!

I have an older JLAB wireless keyboard and have really enjoyed it. However, having pretty much the same thing but with mechanical keys is even better. I absolutely love the feel of the mechanical keys. Even though they claim to be “quiet”, they still make a fair bit of noise, which for me, I enjoy. It gives that added feedback that you have typed something. Personally, I feel like I type better, less typos, on a mechanical keyboard than their lower profile membrane keyboards. One key feature that is a must have for me, is being able to connect to multiple devices. My main system does not have Bluetooth, so having the USB dongle is a must. However, one drawback, this one is USB-C only and does not come with an adapter to USB-A. However, luckily, I already had one from a device that I am not actively using. So consider getting an adapter if you also don’t have a space USB-C port. The other two connections are through Bluetooth and quickly allow me to change between them, like a laptop or other capable device. Even with my old keyboard though, I wouldn’t mind if the lock key was in a different place, as I end up accidentally locking my computer as I go to select my main one. It’s nothing to swap back and unlock though, just like an occasional typo. The back light is all white, except for a few select keys, like Caps Lock when on, Num Lock when cycled and the 2.4 button for connecting to the dongle are green and the 1 and 2 buttons for Bluetooth devices are blue when selected. To top it off, you don’t have to have any specific apps to use the keyboard as intended, even for the multi-function volume knob. However, if you want to reprogram the shortcuts for any of the function keys or change the Insert/Home/End key, shown as 1/2/3 on the keyboard, to any some other function, you can get the JLAB Work App from their site or on your mobile device. This one is a fair bit heavier than the other one I have, but it is expected with the different key style. This one also has 3 levels of angle that you can keep it at with just the flip of the back feet. I believe some of the weight might also be for a larger battery as they claim “up to a year on a single charge”, but that is all subjective with use and LED backlighting. My previous one would go a couple weeks with regular daily use before a charge was needed. I’ve had this one for over a week and have not needed a charge yet. To conserve battery even more, you can always just turn it off when not in use with the switch in the top left. Overall, I really do enjoy this keyboard. The smooth mechanical feel, the soft clack with my interactions, the subtle white back light to guide me in my low lit space and the feeling of a super nerd as I flip between 3 computers on the same keyboard. I wish it had come with a USB-C to USB-A adapter, but just like the power blocks that no one supplies for other electronics, they cut it out anywhere they can.

The Jlab Epic is basically a no-frills full size mechanical keyboard that offers both Bluetooth and 2.4 Ghz wireless radio connectivity. It has an attractive design, dominated with silver greyish look and black accent on the top, which gives a strong professional impression. This is a gorgeous mechanical keyboard. I don’t think the picture of the product in the Bestbuy website does enough justice because the contrast between silver greyish look and the black accent works really well and looks great in real life. The keyboard has backlight keys though they’re not RGB, and keys are visible in dim lit room. Again, as a no-frills mechanical keyboard it doesn’t come with great software or app to register macros or perform advanced tricks such as using the rocker button to mimic steering wheel control for playing racing games. The keyboard is entirely useable for gaming, however, though that it’s not being advertised as a gaming keyboard. It does not have the ability to adjust actuation points but overall, it is still an enjoyable experience to use it for playing games. Playing Helldivers 2 on PC with the keyboard is just so much fun. Keypress feels responsive though I notice that the keyboard skipped some inputs when connecting the receiver directly to my PC that is located below the gaming desk. No lags or skips occurred once I used extension cord and placing the receiver near the keyboard on the desk. As for typing, the somewhat slim profile of the keyboard helps in making typing experience comfortable enough even without using a palm rest. Keys are registered correctly, and fast typing is no problem in terms of maintaining accuracy. The keyboard does not come with a palm rest and of course when I tested the keyboard to type with a palm rest, the experience feels so much more comfortable. There is no option for wired connectivity so this keyboard may not be the right one for E-Sport athletes who prioritize keypress speed. It’s also worth to mention that this keyboard has a dedicated volume rocker dial, which is very useful when you use the keyboard for gaming as you want to occasionally adjust the volume quickly. Overall, this is a great choice for those who want to get a good wireless mechanical keyboard that just works well for typing and gaming without wanting to spend more to get even more features and accessories. I have had this keyboard for about 5 days now, and I absolutely love this JLab Epic Mechanical Wireless Keyboard! This full-size keyboard is exactly what I needed. The numpad is a must-have for me—I use it constantly for work, and I can't function without it. One of my favorite features is the media control knob, which makes it super easy to adjust volume, play, and pause without reaching for my mouse and searching for that little speaker icon in my taskbar. It’s such a nice touch that adds to the overall convenience. The multi-device connectivity is fantastic! It supports Windows, iOS/Mac, Android, and Chrome OS, and switching between devices is seamless. Whether I’m using Bluetooth 5.2, 2.4 GHz wireless with the dongle, or a USB cable, the connection is solid every time. I also love that the battery is rechargeable via USB-C, saving money without needing to buy batteries! The keyboard is lightweight but not too light, making it easy to carry in my work bag without feeling bulky. The white backlit lighting looks clean and professional, and while there’s no RGB, I don’t miss it. The mechanical key feel is perfect. It’s responsive, satisfying, and just the right amount of sound without being obnoxiously loud. It’s great for office use without disturbing others. This keyboard is an absolute winner for me. This is an excellent midrange wireless mechanical keyboard with a few minor drawbacks. First and foremost, the tactile feel of the keys is terrific -- perfect travel, tactile feedback, and spacing, without any annoyingly loud clicking or excess bounciness. I'm a pretty fast touch-typer, and I could reach fairly high speeds on this keyboard with minimal mistakes. Connectivity is nicely versatile, with options for a 2.4 Ghz wireless USB dongle (USB-C only, so you'd need an adapter if your computer only has USB-A ports) or Bluetooth. The dongle shape is not typical -- perfect for my use, since it doesn't stick out much, but I can imagine that it might be a potential fit problem on some computers, depending on the port layout. The keyboard can remember up to two Bluetooth connections; switching between any of these Bluetooth or wireless connections is easy via separate keys. Another nice feature is that the USB dongle can also be used to connect an Epic/JLab wireless mouse, so that only one dongle is needed for the combo (but it's predictably not compatible with other brands). Bluetooth connectivity is mostly smooth, but I did notice sometimes that it would take more than a few seconds to reconnect after waking my Chromebook up. The layout of the function keys is different from other keyboards I've used -- I wish manufacturers would stick to some basic standard, rather than coming up with their own layouts. The keys can be customized, but only if you use the JLab Work app, which is only available for Windows and Mac, and can only be used in USB wireless mode (not Bluetooth). In addition, I'm using this primarily on a Chromebook, and the JLab Work app isn't available for ChromeOS. (Also, you have to give your email address to JLab in order to download the app -- not very user-friendly for those who are trying to safeguard their privacy and reduce spam.) Some of the function keys do work on ChromeOS, but a few of them do the same thing (open the Launcher) or do nothing at all. I wish there was a way to customize keys on ChromeOS. One of the distinctive elements of the keyboard is the media knob, which is a nice method of adjusting volume. The knob has a definite step-wise feel when turning it. Pressing it once toggles pause/play. You can also double-press it to skip forward a track, and press and hold to skip backward, but these commands are more awkward; fortunately, there are dedicated function keys for track forward/back. The backlight is effective, with 10 levels of brightness. The backlight timeout can only be adjusted using the JLab Work app. This isn't a gaming keyboard, so there are no adjustments for backlight color, or any fancy pulsing patterns. Build quality is excellent overall. The top is brushed metal, while the bottom chassis is sturdy plastic. The keys feel solid and substantial, and the media knob feels premium. On the downside, the finish of the keys and the glossy plastic strip along the top accumulates fingerprints and grease easily. There are two feet on the bottom that can swing out to adjust the keyboard angle, with two settings; these are also plastic, but don't feel flimsy. Overall, this is an impressive wireless mechanical keyboard. Definitely worth a look!

I’ve been using the keyboard for a bit now, and as a wireless keyboard it’s pretty nice. If you have had any of the simple office wireless keyboards, this feels much better and much more like a plug-in keyboard. The mechanical keys are nice, and typing is generally nice to do. The build feels solid, and the response is quick. The setup is easy too, either plug in the dongle and press the WiFi looking key, or hold down Bluetooth and connect that way. You also get two Bluetooth profiles so you can use it on a computer and let’s say also have it setup for a table. But then there is the odd choice of not being able to connect directly to a computer with a cord. You get a cord with the keyboard, and it’s its USB-C so my first attempt was to plug it into my computer as it just seems like it should work. I get you’re probably getting this use it wireless but seems odd. The other thing that’s a little weird is the keys. As this is supposed to be used on a few platforms, some of the keys are just a random symbol. I use the home and end keys a a lot, and those two are just number thought they work. So if you don’t know what they keys are might be a little odd. Building on this the app is also underwhelming. The only thing you can do is change the backlight time and brightness. If you have custom keys, I’d expect to be able to change them not in the OS. The last thing I would like is to have a USB C to A adapter included. The dongle is USBC but many older computers have more ports for USB A and while we transition over it’s nice when both options are included. Overall it’s a decent keyboard just a little underwhelming not because of the physical use but software and the fact your trying to be usable on multiple platforms. Good choice though for anyone looking for a wireless mechanical keyboard.

I've been testing the JLab Epic Mechanical Keyboard for about a week now, and I have some extremely good things to say, coupled with a few little quibbles that are annoying to me, but can be fixed relatively easily in software. Here are my quick takes: Positives: • Keys are nice and springy, and offer some tactile feedback without too much clickity clack; They feel great! • Shortcut buttons and media controls are super cool • Easy to swap between different computers, and can be set for different operating systems easily. • Keycaps height: 6 mm • I love the easily swappable keycaps, which made it easy to move a couple of them around • Backlight brightness and timeout is adjustable (timeout in JLab app only) • I LOVE how the Caps Lock key turns green when it's activated, and the NumLock key flashes green to show when it's been pressed • You can set the backlight to stay on for long periods of time, keeping the keyboard connected until I turn my PC off Negatives: • PgUp and End buttons are in the wrong place, and you need to use 3rd-party software to reassign them • JLab app doesn't show battery life or allow you to change the full keyboard layout • Keycaps can be swapped easily, but the height is seemingly non-standard at 6mm Overall, the keyboard types exceptionally well, and the switches offer a nice blend of tactility and quiet sound. The key caps are very slim (about 6mm), so this isn't a huge leap into mechanical-ness for people who are more used to a low-profile laptop keyboard, but it still offers some good travel and a nice solid base. The standout features to me are the ability to easily switch between up to 3 devices and the media control knob. Swapping between PCs takes just a few seconds, and Bluetooth or 2.4 GHz connectivity with the USB-C dongle make it super easy to connect. There are also shortcut keys for screenshots, opening the settings menu, and locking your PC (which I do often, and which replaces the Windows+L shortcut). These keys, along with the function keys, are all programmable in the JLab Work app, which also allows you to set the backlight timeout. The best thing about changing the backlight timeout is the keyboard remembers your preferred setting, even when switching to other PCs. This also eliminates the problem of the keyboard going to sleep and needing to be woken up after just a short time. And speaking of the backlight, there is a special one for the Caps Lock and NumLock keys. For Caps Lock, the key stays lit green when active, and for NumLock, the key flashes green three times if you turn it off, and once if you turn it on. That is a SUPER useful feature that can help remind you when things are active that you prefer not to be. As for gaming, I am nobody's idea of a pro gamer, but I like to play Minecraft and other games with the kids every now and again, and I've found this keyboard is extremely responsive and comfortable to use for my needs. Unfortunately, I have a problem with the layout of the keyboard, and it can't be fixed using the JLab Work app. Like other full-sized keyboards, the JLab Epic Mechanical has six keys above and to the right of the right side of the main layout. From left to right these keys are Insert, Home, End on the top row, and Delete, PgUp, and PgDn on the bottom row. On every other full-sized keyboard I've ever used, the layout goes Insert, Home, PgUp on top and Delete, End, PgDn on the bottom. Using the JLab layout is extremely annoying! BUT, the keycaps are easy to swap and the keys can be remapped in the Windows Power Toys Keyboard Manager Tool. That fixed the problem for me, but I think it should be possible to remap the keys in the JLab Work app without having to download a separate utility. And speaking of the JLab Work app, the other thing I think it's missing is an indication of remaining battery life. I would love to know when it's getting close to time to recharge my keyboard, especially since I have the backlight set to be always on when the computer is awake. Battery life has been excellent so far, and I haven't needed to charge the keyboard yet. Other than the small, temporary inconvenience of re-mapping the keys and the missing battery life, this keyboard is essentially perfect for me. I write at my desk for 8 hours a day, and I am very pleased by the feel and performance of this keyboard. Highly recommended for writers and people who want a comfortable, usable keyboard with a lot of neat functions.

Decent mechanical keyboard, but one major flaw... I also have the JLab - Epic Full-Size Wireless Bluetooth Optical Mouse, so this product line is not new to me. Both are solid choices for most casual, work, and basic gaming. Both are very comfortable in the hand and on the fingers. This is my third mecahnical keyboard and it's decent, but the other two are both gaming specific keyboard and they have a better feel. I know, not a fair comparison, just a clinical observation. Having said that, they are also considerable more expense. For the price this JLab - Epic Mechanical Advanced Multi-device Wireless Keyboard is a nice option. Some of "The Good": * It can be connected to three devices at a time. Two via Bluetooth and one via USB C dongle. More on the USB C dongle later. * It has a great typing feel. * Solid feedback and solid construuction. * Has a nice volume knob that has a nice quality feel. * The keys are backlit, and for this 54-year-old old-man eyes, that is nice. * It has cusomizeable keys using the J-Lab Work app. The "Mmehh": * It has a mechanical on/off button. It would be nice if it had a virtual on/off button and would go into "off" mode after X-minutes of use to save battery. My 54-year-old brain does not always remember to turn it off. * The app. Not necessarily a "bad" app,but it has to be connected via the USB dongle. The bad: The USB dongle. Not that there is anything "wrongg, with the dongle, BUT the keyboard does not a have a place to store it. Being such a small piece, it is VERY easy to lose/misplace/forget. If it had a simple "dummy" USB C mold in the back of the keyboard, it would be nice. But since it doesn't, the only solution is to tape it to the bottom of the board. A soltion? Yes. An elegant solution? No way! See pictures. Pretty janky. End of the day, I'll end where I started... Decent mechanical keyboard, but with one major flaw.

I've been using the JLab Epic Mechanical Advanced Multi-Device Wireless keyboard for about a week now, and for brand better known for their headphones, this is a very good full size PC/Mac Mechanical Keyboard. Good key travel, relatively quiet keys (not the loud thwack of some keyboards). The fact that you can switch between devices quickly is a huge plus. In the box - JLab Epic Mechnical Advanced Multi Device Keyboard (long name!) - USB Charging Cable - USB dongle (this is cool, I think it's the first I have owned) Setup is easy(ish). Either plug in the dongle if you want to use 2.5Ghz) or hold the fast switch Bluetooth Pairing Button numbered 1 or 2 near the numeric keypad and you're away. The only catch, is if you're coming from Windows to Mac to Android (Android is supported) you need to press the Fn key (bottom right) and either Q for Mac, W for Android, or E for Windows or the keyboard will simply be detected as a standard ANSI keyboard. This is OK on Windows, but if you don't press the commands you won't get your proper opt and cmd key placements. What's interesting and cool is while you don't need drivers or software, JLab have a JLab work app. This lets you customize things like backlight timeout, as well as the function keys and other hot keys. The app is clean, easy to use (no registration) and available on MacOS and Windows. You can also save multiple profiles, which is probably more useful gamers or designers who want to have custom key settings. It's a shame the JLab work app can't also be used to switch device mode, as this would make hot switching between a Mac/PC, which is how I live, a little easier. Design wise, the JLab Epic has good weight, love that it has multiple height adjustments - either don't use, low profile, or elevated. The volume control knob is a nice touch and has satisfying notch clicks when you adjust the volume - again worked by default, no drivers or software needed. In terms of battery life, I'm about a week in and haven't had to charge yet (using Bluetooth for what it's worth). I only use Bluetooth to connect and store the dongle in the USB C charging port, just so I don't lose it. The instructions do say you can pair multiple devices to the dongle, so may just go get myself a Jlab mouse to complete the setup (just checked, their mouse also supports 3 devices - I'm sold on JLab!). Overall, Great Full Size PC/Mac Mechanical Keyboard. If the JLab work app smartly switched the keyboard between PC/Mac it would be perfect. PS.
