Joe Mullins & the Radio Ramblers - Hymns from the Hills - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Jalyn Records is back! The Dayton, Ohio tag from the creative mind of bluegrass legend Jack Lynch originally ran from the early '60s through the late '70s. Working out of his apartment on Brown Street, Lynch turned out a steady run of hard-driving bluegrass, country, and gospel sides cut by local pickers and big names alike, including Ralph Stanley and Don Reno. Decades on, these records are now lovingly remastered for modern ears and available on CD for the first time. Gospel songs, hymns, and sacred numbers were always at the heart of Jalyn's output, reflecting both the fervor of old-time camp meetings and the quiet meditations of mountain life. Performed in the bluegrass style with acoustic banjo, fiddle, and guitar driving the rhythm, Paul Mullins & The Backwoods Boys Quartet offer here clean, heartfelt harmonies that carry faith, family, and tradition in every note. Decades on, these recordings are now lovingly remastered for modern ears and available on CD for the first time.
