About this product

Vinyl LP pressing. 2021 . In the midst of a global pandemic, John Hiatt walked into Historic RCA Studio B to record a record. Hiatt teamed up with multi-Grammy award winning artist and producer, Jerry Douglas and his band, The Jerry Douglas Band. The result of those sessions would be the album, Leftover Feelings. There's no drummer, yet these grooves are deep and true. And while the up-tempo songs are, as ever, filled with delightful internal rhyme and sly aggression, the Jerry Douglas Band's empathetic musicianship nudges Hiatt to performances that are startlingly vulnerable. In life, leftover feelings can remain unresolved. Explicated in a place of history, a place of comfort. A sacred place, if you believe the documentation of human expression to be a holy thing. Here are Hiatt and Douglas, creating love songs and road songs, sly songs and hurt songs. Their songs, and now our songs. Leftover feelings that edify and sustain. Album Tracks 1. Long Black Electric Cadillac 2. Mississippi Phone Booth 3. The Music Is Hot 4. All the Lilacs in Ohio 5. I'm in Asheville 6. Light of the Burning Sun 7. Little Goodnight 8. Buddy Boy 9. Changes in My Mind 10. Keen Rambler 11. Sweet Dream

John Hiatt - Live from Austin TX - VINYL LP
5.0(1)

Vinyl LP pressing. One could argue (at least I will) that John Hiatt was at a peak in his career when he took the Austin City Limits stage on December 14, 1993. His musical journey began in the 70's with an angry rocker image which gradually gave way to a mellower, more introspective country-folk-rock style. But labels don't do justice to his unusual imagery and evocative lyrics. He's never been afraid of tackling personal and social issues, and he does so with grace and style, but he's also perfectly capable of turning up the volume and giving younger rockers a run for their money. This show originally aired on the heels of his highly-acclaimed album, PERFECTLY GOOD GUITAR, which The Los Angeles Times called Inchthe most boldly rocking record in more than a decade.Inch He is joined here by lead guitarist Michael Ward from School of Fish and bassist Davey Faragher and drummer Michael Urbano, both from Cracker. As always, Hiatt demonstrates his knack for turning terse phrases and creating musical stories that make him a rare Inchsongwriter's songwriter.Inch Album Tracks 1. Icy Blue Heart 2. Loving a Hurricane 3. When You Hold Me Tight 4. Your Dad Did 5. Straight Outta Time 6. Memphis in the Meantime 7. Something Wild 8. Have a Little Faith in Me 9. Buffalo River Home 10. Thing Called Love 11. Angel 12. Tennessee Plates 13. Slow Turning 14. Perfectly Good Guitar

John Hiatt & the Goners - Beneath This Gruff Exterior - VINYL LP

Vinyl LP pressing. Much to his credit, John Hiatt has never strayed very far from the bluesy garage rock roots of his Indiana childhood. That fact is raucously underscored here, a gritty collection that finds the veteran singer/songwriter co-crediting his longtime band, the Goners (guitarist Sonny Landreth, bassist Dave Ranson and Kenneth Blevins on drums) for the first time-and for good reason. Recorded live in the studio, Hiatt and the Goners evoke everything from chugging Sun Records' shuffles to swampy Delta blues, early Ry Cooder and the Band, all of it informed by the almost telepathic sense of interplay these musicians have developed over decades of touring. This is easily the most overtly rocking album of Hiatt's career, but one that hasn't sacrificed an ounce of soul for it's joyous energy. New West is proud to this record on stand alone black vinyl for the first time. Album Tracks 1. Uncommon Connection 2. How Bad's the Coffee 3. The Nagging Dark 4. My Baby Blue 5. My Dog and Me 6. Almost Fed Up with the Blues 7. Circle Back 8. Window on the World 9. Missing Pieces 10. Fly Back Home 11. The Last Time 12. The Most Unoriginal Sin
