John Matthias - Village Grren - VINYL LP

Limited yellow colored vinyl LP pressing. Ex-Napalm Death vocalist Lee Dorrian formed Cathedral in 1990, favoring Black Sabbath grind over his former bands thrash-metal, though Dorrian's vocals are just as demented & unintelligible

Villager was the debut solo album by Mother Earth singer, Paul Weller band member and erstwhile Noel Gallagher replacement in Oasis, Matt Deighton. A pastoral folk album that sits perfectly alongside Nick Drake's Bryter Later and Solid Air by John Martin. Originally released in 1995 it garnered great reviews from NME, Q and the Guardian, and on it's 2011 reissue was named by Mojo as a Buried Treasure. Remastered from the original production master by Nick Robbins at Sound Mastering (Ace Records, The Small Faces), the vinyl sounds incredible. This new edition is released on Acid Jazz's People Tree subsidiary and is pressed on milky clear transparent vinyl.

John Prine needed to get into his comfort zone to finish a new album, so his wife reserved a room at the Omni Hotel in Nashville for a week. After nearly 50 years on the road, hotel rooms are a familiar enough sight. Following two bellmen to his suite, Prine settled in with four guitars and 10 boxes of legal pads to complete the album that would become The Tree of Forgiveness. The highly-anticipated album, The Tree of Forgiveness, is Prine's first collection of new material since 2005's Grammy-winning Fair and Square. Rather than going out on a limb, Prine cultivated the themes that have brought international acclaim since the 1970s. For example, he can take a topic like loneliness and make it funny (InchKnockin' on Your Screen DoorInch) or heartbreaking (InchSummers EndInch). Perfectly aligned with his quirkiest songs, InchThe Lonesome Friends of ScienceInch makes it's point through the characters he calls Inchthose bastards in the white lab coats who experiment with mountain goats,Inch as well as the discredited planet Pluto and the towering Vulcan statue in Birmingham, Alabama.
