John Renbourn - In Concert - DVD

Two of the world's premiere acoustic guitarists join forces in this concert recorded in 1982 to define and explore the parameters of American and European Folk, Blues, Jazz and Ragtime Music. Stefan Grossman and John Renbourn, play both solo and as a duo. This 90 minute DVD captures thirty years of music by John Renbourn. It follows him from the legendary London basement club 'Les Cousins' to his work with Bert Jansch and their group Pentangle to his traditional/medieval adventures with the John Renbourn Group and to his duet performances with Stefan Grossman. John has also constantly been touring solo. This video chronicles his evolving growth as one of today's foremost acoustic guitar masters.

John Renbourn's unique stylistic fusion of British folk music with elements of Country Blues, Modern Jazz, Ragtime, classical and pre-Renaissance music has led to his becoming one of the foremost fingerstyle guitarists performing today. John explores all the facets of his music in this 75 minute solo concert, recorded 1990 in Toronto, Canada. He plays a Classic Rock instrumental by Booker T. & the MGS and follows this with a Gospel tuned learned from a recording by the great Bahamian guitarist, Joseph Spence.
