Really looks good with the clear panel. Installation was extremely simple, they suggest using a professional for installation if you are uncomfortable, the printed/downloaded instructions were very easy to follow though. It wakes up when you walk near it or wave your hand in front of it. Very simple to configure it to your other smart home devices. Initial setup was a breeze, and it starts saving money right away.

I absolutely love this thermostat are used to have the nest but this one is much nicer for me the problem with the nest, I don’t like the fact that Google took over nest. I love the look at this it looks like a piece of art, and it works flawlessly I have no issues with the app nor do I have any issues hooking it up till Alexa. I don’t hesitate to buy another one if I need it this is one of my better buys at Best Buy

This thermostat has major problems. I am using this with my two stage heat pump with two stage gas furnace system. The biggest flaw is it will run the heat pump at the same time as the gas heat. This typically occurs when the heat pump has been trying to heat the space for a while and will not reach the set point. The thermostat then brings on the gas heat, as it should, but the heat pump continues to run. I do not have W connected between the heat pump and furnace. This is the thermostat making this decision. This is terrible on the compressor as the heat from the gas furnace is now entering the refrigerant circuit. I am flipping the breaker off to the heat pump on cold days, and then on on warmer days and turning the gas valve off. All this so that a thermostat doesn't destroy my compressor. I ordered a DPDT normally closed relay to place between Y1 and Y2 with W1 as the control to protect my compressor. The weather updates stopped for about three weeks straight. The outdoor temperature displayed the exact same temperature during this time. Yesterday, the outdoor temperature changed, but it is incorrect. I have tried changing the zip code as a test (which did change the outdoor temperature reading), restarting the thermostat, and even resetting all the settings. I called support and they recommended everything I already tried. They then said they would send me a replacement thermostat but is has not arrived (It's been three weeks). The decisions it makes on when to use the second stage are way off. In the morning when reheating the space from 62 to 72, it will stay in stage one gas heat then entire time. During the day when trying to maintain at 72 degrees, it will run stage one, then stage two, then back to stage one, and then off. It will repeat this instead of just running stage one for longer. Most reviews have mentioned the slow app. The app is slow to load, but it's like, a few seconds. It doesn't seem like a big deal to me. The walk-through setup was the easiest I've ever used even compared to a Nest. It was very easy to configure even with a complex multi-stage, dual-fuel system. I also enjoy the simple one touch away button that I can hit on my my way out the door. TLDR: Single stage system: this will work well. Multi-stage system: it works ok. Heat-pump with electric aux heat: works ok but outdoor temperature reading is off Dual-fuel/hybrid heat: DO NOT USE THIS THERMOSTAT! It runs gas heat and heat pump at the same time.

Super impressed-install and set up was a breeze. (Hint you may need a second person to fold the bracket) I think the app does a good job and doing what it needs to do. Just bought a second unit for the upstairs. Solid buy-two thumbs up

So far I like it, product it’s pretty good, easy to install, comes with everything you need, the app is easy to use. The only problem it’s technology making me lazy.

Absolute garbage right out of the box. Installing was a pain and when finally did it, device showed a WINDOWS ERROR!? Can't believe this. Spoke with support, terrible too... The tech just said: "We won't spend any time on this" No troubleshooting. Waiting for replacement instructions now. Item not recommended.

This unit my second GLAS thermostat. The first thermostat was purchased and installed in early December 2019. It was installed to remotely view and control a two year old HVAC system in another state. The second unit (the one I am reviewing here) was purchased and installed in April to control a ten year old HVAC system in Arizona. I will also view and control this HVAC remotely when we occasionally travel. I installed both GLAS smart thermostats using the GLAS iPhone app. The unit in the other state was the easiest to install because I knew the type of unit (conventional HVAC). The unit in AZ was more difficult for me because the HVAC is a Heat Pump and the connections are different. I had no clue, but GLAS telephone support techs are excellent. They stepped me through a troubleshooting routine and quickly identified the wiring issue. What I like about the GLAS thermostats is that the HVAC units seem to run less while still maintaining the set temperature. The energy savings and air quality screens are useful and easy to use. Both of the thermostats are managed using a single copy of the smart phone app. I recommend this smart thermostat.

I was interested in this only for one reason: the look. There's a bonus, though, that helped cement my decision. It measures not only humidity, but also VOCs and CO2 levels. The app is not so great, but I have ran into any issues other than it being slow to load. Connecting to Alexa was also as painless as enabling any other skill and logging into my Glas account. My only gripe is that the display doesn't have any ambient mode that always displays the temperature. That's something I've been accustomed to with my Ecobee3 that only served the purpose of letting me know if I need to turn on the AC. My solution to not being able to see the temperature is just set it to Auto and have it turn on at the temperature I would've wanted it to turn on had I seen the numbers on the display.

So I ordered this because my old battery operated one was just not working right and we needed it to be more automated with keeping the house cool in the summer time. First if you don't have a C wire you will need one, there is no work around for this at all it needs power to the unit all the time. Second the "learning" it does is just OK. I've had to adjust the "home and away" temperatures several times now as it keeps wanting to raise them to save on energy, which is great for the wallet but not for living. The design is great and futuristic, the display is bright and can be read far away, touch controls for the most part are good, but it will get stuck from time to time. The remote access...well I currently cannot get the app to work with the thermostat, not sure if its the app or the thermostat but this is minor for me. Overall i'm not un happy but if companies are trying to go after the nest, than they still have some work to do.

First, by way of background, I am replacing a perfectly fine Emerson Sensi WiFi thermostat. Why? Because this one looks great. And it does. The thermostat was easy to install. You do need a C-wire. If you don't have one (only have four wires) the thermostat includes some magic box that you put on your furnace/AC control board and it does something so that it works. I used this magic box and my thermostat works fine. I do not use a lot of the occpancy sensing and anticipation features, I just told it when we go to bed and when we get up and what temperatures we want at teach time. It's a little different logic, but was very easy to set up. Finally, Johnson Controls makes a lot of industrial HVAC controls, so they aren't new to the thermostat business, which give me peace of mind that they are not likely going to fry my furnace.

Futuristic little thermostat. This thermostat does everything we want it to, and also looks awesome in the process! We get a ton of compliments on our thermostat and how cool it is that you can see through it! Love that we can control it from anywhere that has internet! Also was easy enough for me to install and hook up to existing connections.

Really cool looking thermostat, very modern look, APP is good. Pro's: real glass display, wicked cool look, Air quality sensing Cons: Look is not for everyone, thermostat will not cover the old mounting area of most thermostats it replaces.

[Employee of bestbuy] Probably the best thermostat i have ever owned, only cons are that it is no longer supported so the phone app does not work anymore

This is by far the most beautiful thermostat and feature reach thermostat on the market. In addition to the normal functions, it also measures the air quality (VOC, CO2 and RH) and let you know to turn on the fan to improve air quality. Installation instructions and in the App were great and did not encounter any issues. All the functions are readily available from the touch panel, including ability to run the fan for a set time. The app is a different story, it is slow to login each time you start it, and occasionally display the wrong temperature and status of the thermostat.

This thermostat is so beautiful looking. It looks really fancy and I am happy to have purchased it. It is so nice to be able to control my temp in the house through the app instead of having to go to the thermostat. It is especially nice to have when you are away from home and want to change it. I love how it has the feature showing the quality of the air in your house and outdoors.

Great thermostat and easy to use. Also does air quality tests.

This thermostat is amazing. I like that it shows the air quality in my home. I also like that it can be set to switch automatically between heat and cool, because the weather here changes on a daily basis. It is very responsive. I love that it is translucent. Everyone thinks it looks cool. One downside, the app is not very responsive all the time and I have to keep logging in to use it.
