Jon Pardi - Mr. Saturday Night - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Brighter days are up ahead, declares Dwight Yoakam on the title track of his new album Brighter Days (Via Records/Thirty Tigers), his first of new original material in nine years. Written and recorded over the last three years, Brighter Days features 12 brand-new songs written/co-written by Yoakam, as well as two seemingly disparate covers of InchKeep On The Sunny SideInch by the Carter Family and InchBound AwayInch by Cake, artfully woven into the same body of work in the unmistakable style that could only be Dwight Yoakam. The infectious lead single InchI Don't Know How To Say Goodbye (Bang Bang Boom Boom), Inch was written by Yoakam specifically for a collaboration with self-proclaimed Dwight Yoakam superfan, Post Malone. At once timeless and timely, in fact downright cowpunk-tual, Yoakam self-produced Brighter Days, blending a modern reverence for the history of country music with the pioneering rock and roll spirit of California. The result creates a sense of craftsmanship and immediacy that captures the quintessential Dwight Yoakam InchcoolInch that has separated the two-time Grammy winner from his country contemporaries since the start of his legendary career. As usual, Yoakam's lyrics throughout the album are both deceivingly effortless and poignant. Brighter Days was mixed by world-class engineer Chris Lord-Alge and is slated for Nov 15, 2024.

2025 . Award-winning singer/songwriter/producer Jon Pardi releases his fifth studio album, Honkytonk Hollywood. Featuring 17 tracks, including InchFriday Night HeartbreakerInch that Inchkicks down the door of this next musical chapterInch (American Songwriter) and the title track, InchHonkytonk Hollywood.Inch

Kicking off with the swagger and machismo of one of the quintessential 70's anthems, InchHot LegsInch, Foot Loose And Fancy Free is a blistering joyride, a swaggering period piece that, like all of Rod's best work, immerses itself in the prevalent style of the time- by 1977, funk-tinged rock was all the rage, and Foot Loose is a carnival of wah-wah guitars (InchYou're InsaneInch), epic arrangements (InchYou Just Keep Me Hanging OnInch), and unabashed earnestness (the nostalgic and confessional InchI Was Only JokingInch.) Foot Loose's greatest contribution to the Stewart canon has to be InchYou're in My HeartInch, a timely, sensitive classic that stirs in just enough breathy whimsy to it's strangely down-home feel (bluegrass violins and U.K. football references not being one of your more common pairings in pop music) to create yet another milestone in Stewart's varied and timeless career.
