About this product
Joseph Tholl is widely known as a Swedish multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter. He gained international recognition as a founding member and guitarist of the speed metal band Enforcer, which he officially left in 2019. After his time with Enforcer, he formed Black Trip (later renamed Vojd) and is currently playing guitar in Tribulation. Following 2019's Devil's Drum, It Might Be Art is his second solo album. It was recorded and mixed at Humbucker Studio, which Tholl co-owns with Robert Pehrsson (also a High Roller Records artist). Tholl handles vocals, guitars, and most of the bass, as well as piano and synthesizer parts. Drum duties are shared by Robert Eriksson (The Hellacopters) and Jakob Ljungberg (Second Sun). In addition, the album features several guest appearances by musicians including Johannes Andersson (Tribulation), Tobias Lindkvist (Tyrann), Pia Stjärnvind (Serpent Omega), Adam Zaars (Tribulation), and Robert Pehrsson (Dundertåget, Robert Pehrsson's Humbucker). At times, influences from Sisters of Mercy, The Cure, New Model Army, and Midnight Oil can be glimpsed.

Where most black metal revels in stories of fictional deities, benign and malignant, Spyhorelandet wallows in everyday themes. Like the cover art, the music contained therein contains the naked truth. When you peel back the skin, no matter how beautiful, what is left is the ugly personal histories each of US carries. Throughout Spyhorelandet, naked inhabitants of our world are quoted directly. For many of whom, defeat is their best and sometimes only asset. The once unspoken rule that you don't S**t where you eat, has been forgotten. Now, sewers cascade into open and inviting mouths, and every plate is overflowing. 5 years after the of the avant-garde metal piece Adjø Silo, Formloff are back with a new dark black metal piece, Spyhorelandet. Finding progression in regression, Formloff have crafted an album closer to the sound of their first demo, Overstaying, but far more atmospheric and much darker.

Megaton Sword's new album, Might & Power might seem on the surface a reiteration of their true-as-steel HEAVY METAL, and to a large degree, that's correct - MEGATON SWORD are still drunk on high fantasy and the enduring themes of conquest and valor, triumph and tragedy - but the deceptively expansive album sees the now-quintet stretching their sturdy sound in directions more dynamic and extreme.

Deforming Lobes captures The Freedom Band in fiery flight, igniting a handful of songs from Ty Segall's catalog live at LA's Teragram Ballroom. The band explores everything with unrestrained curiosity and zeal, never losing their collective bond with the audience. For the album, analog recordings supervised by Steve Albini present the band somehow even more brutally front and center, redefining the physical experience of seeing the concert in person. Deforming Lobes is the first wholly original statement from The Freedom Band and bookends the Goblin experience with an exclamation point!
