- Description: Vinyl LP pressing. 2023 . 'Volcano' follows Jungle's previous album 'Loving In Stereo', which proved to be a landmark moment for the acclaimed UK duo. It achieved their highest domestic UK chart position to date debuting at #3, while also achieving their best ever album chart positions in key international territories such as Australia, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Netherlands; and in the US it catapulted to #1 on the Billboard Dance Albums chart which led to major Arena shows as guests to Billie Eilish. The free-spirited energy that runs right through 'Volcano' reflects how organically it came together. J and T had written most of the record on tour before starting the recording process while staying in an Airbnb in Los Angeles. It was later completed back home in London at their favourite location, Studio B at Metropolis Studios. This time around, the duo wanted to include a wider variety of voices within the album. In addition to Erick The Architect, they reunited with Bas (who previously featured on the 'Loving In Stereo' single 'Romeo') for 'Pretty Little Thing', as well as calling on talents in the shape of Roots Manuva, Channel Tres and JNR Williams. Recorded over two years, largely at Water Music in Hoboken, NJ, LOVE THIS GIANT is a collaboration in the truest sense of the word, with Byrne and St. Vincent (aka Annie Clark) co-writing ten of the albums twelve tracks, and each artist penning one song individually. The album centers around an explosive brass band and is propelled by John Congletons drum programming. Preceded by the single InchIn Between DaysInch which had reached #15 on the UK singles chart, The Head on the Door was described by Melody Maker as Incha collection of pop songsInch. With it's variety of styles, it allowed the group to reach a wider audience in both Europe and North America. In the United Kingdom, it quickly became their most successful album to date, climbing to #7 on the albums chart. The album is the first to feature drummer Boris Williams. Bassist Simon Gallup, who had previously worked on three major Cure albums of the early 80's, was called back before the recording. In 1985, the band became a quintet with instrumentalist Porl Thompson as fifth official member.
