Director John Boorman takes a look back at the London Blitz of World War II, as seen through the eyes of a child, in this haunting, semi-autobiographical seriocomedy. Young Bill Rohan (Sebastian Rice-Edwards) is the boy who views the war-particularly the nightly air raids on his suburban neighborhood-not as a time of great conflict and bloodshed, but rather as a grand adventure. With Sarah Miles, Sammi Davis, Ian Bannen, David Hayman, Geraldine Muir. 113 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack English.
