I have a set of Definitive Technology Mythos that I purchased in 2004. I set them up in my home gym, but needed an appropriate subwoofer to compliment them. The KEF Kube8b was a wonderful choice. The room is the size of a large bedroom. The Kube8b has plenty of punch, while blending beautifully with the DefTecs.

I purchased the KEF Kube 10b to complement a pair of LS50 Metas in my 2-channel setup. I'm very pleased with the performance as well as build quality and can highly recommend the Kube 10b in small to medium rooms especially for music. It wasn't difficult to find the right location in the room as well as "dialing in" the settings regarding low pass and type of EQ (three choices including on wall, in room, etc) to achieve the best blending with the LS50s (may incorporate a MiniDSP later to fine tune). My guess is that it would be a good choice for HT as well but you might need two to get the best result in larger rooms. For "bass heads" or high volume HT applications it might make more sense to purchase a ported subwoofer or two or plan on two of these or the 12b models.

The KEF R-Series packages are worth every penny. The quality for music lovers exceeds expectations. I have also added the Center and towers to the set. Comes in many colors - easy to install. Top notch! Highly recommend!

You don’t even know it’s there until it’s there! Packs a boom and we like it

I like the size. It's a little larger than a one foot cube but produces a tremendous low frequency sound that is not boomie and is capable of filling a 14x22 foot room. I don't like the fact that it does not have auto on/off capability. Other than that it is great.

This 12" driven enclosed glossy/ ice cube shaped subwoofer is not only a beauty to behold but very well capable of shifting enough air to cover a large listening space. It has fast responsive bass that is tight but also more than able to provide the earth shaking sonics needed during movie watching. This unit comes alive in the 30Hz range, handing out well rounded bass with great depth and with pace. It can deliver down past the 20Hz with lower frequencies tapering off and never dropping suddenly. The built in KEF DSP allows set up to be easy, configure in-cabinet, corner or in-room, then either let your AVR handle the rest or adjust the volume and crossover to your liking.

Deep tight bass, plenty of power to fill 300-400 sq. ft rooms. Auto on/off function is not reliable, but by-passable.

Having a smaller, open family room space I didn’t want, or need, a 10 or 12 inch sub-woofer. Keeping the nails in the walls, and pictures hanging seemed to be a good thing. I spent some time with the BB salesperson and once he understood where I was at, he went right to the KEF 8” unit. This thing has more than enough juice to make sure you experience Maverick at his best or Smaug in all his glory without making the windows wish they were better quality. Smaller unit can be tucked away and it’s beautiful black finish makes it easy on the eyes if you do see it. Brits did a nice job with this product. Just follow the instruction suggestions to get great bass and low end response.

Te KEF Kube 10 offers amazing bass. The 10 inch subwoofer performs like a 12 inch subwoofer. It looks amazing with its glossy top. It is well worth the money.

Here's why you buy this over a $400 klipsch. The bass is extremely tight and hits you right in the chest! It looks nice in your room. It has a setting for the corner where most people put a sub. I purchased this as a second sub to go with my bose acostamass 10 series V system. I'm also running an AQ irish red cable to it from a Yamaha v685.

Adds lots of bass. Had to purchase separately a subwoofer decoupling kit for the feet due to being installed on hard tile. The included rubber feet that are installed from KEF cant hold back the sheer power of this subwoofer. If you're planning to install it on a solid cement floor and are okay with rattling the walls you might not not need a decoupling kit.

Balanced and even, but booms when you need it. My music is even high/mid/low. The KEF Kube 12" is subtle, yet noticeable. For movies, the subwoofer can rattle things and I had to turn it down a little.

The Kube 12 is impressive. I really like the fact that is is a sealed (not ported) enclosure. The bass is very tight and musical, not just a boom-boom box. However, during action movies, it shakes my whole room. One really nice feature is that is has dual inputs (i.e. line and speaker level). By using both (with a single RCA cable and 2 speaker cables), I get the benefit of the LFE "X.1" channel for movies, while for stereo music, it uses the speaker level input, which is best for music, where there is no LFE channel. I have it sitting in a corner, and it sounds great.

I use this KEF subwoofer in a big room and it is way more than enough. I highly recommend because of its compact size and quality. This is a very high end sounding piece of equipment. I also have a KEF subwoofer in our bedroom set up and it works great there as well.

Great subwoofer that is very understated in appearance in an open space given its size and sound performance.

I added this to go with the KEF floorstanding and center channel speakers I purchased. Was initially concerned that the KUBE8 wouldn't be strong enough to fill my 24 x 17 open living room, but I was pleasantly surprised with this subwoofer. I had listened to SVS and a few others in the magnolia room and was leaning towards one of the other brands. Once I got this into my room, it filled the room with more bass than I was expecting from this little sub. The little KEF KUBE8 did a great job for me and I'll be keeping it!
