About this product

After her successful CD InchJoy of BachInch (arc17008), the Japanese organist Keiko Nakata presents now a recording of music by Cesar Franck. The symphonic organ music of the romantic era is closely connected to the developments of organ building during the 19th century. Keiko Nakata chooses for her recording the Merklin-Organ of the Cathedral of St. Louis of Blois, on which Franck's markings in the score can be ideally realised. Besides pieces like the Piece Heroique, there are the Three Chorals in the programme. They freely exploit the multiple possibilities of invented choral melodies. This romantic conception leading to the idea of a spiritual concert would later give birth to a new spiritual dimension in music beyond the boundaries of religious offices and rituals. As a result, the liturgical organ embedded with it's Gregorian heritage would step back to allow some space for a new style of organ playing and building to emerge, emulating the great works for piano and orchestra as manifested by Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Schumann, Chopin and Liszt.

Keiko Shichijo - Solo Keyboard Works - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Fortepianist Keiko Shichijo presents a radically fresh view of Mozart's keyboard music. Mr. Da Costa calls the instrument Inchabsolutely ravishing in sound, with a clarity, crispness, and resonance that is ideally suited to Mozart's piano writing.Inch Keiko Shichijo is a special voice in both the Classical and new music worlds. Her traditional Japanese sensibilities combined with her knowledge of European historical performance practices shape her unique vision, and this is reflected in her feeling for the music, the instruments and the story behind them.

Taylor Swift - Midnights (Moonstone Blue Edition) - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

CLEAN. Moonstone blue edition. Taylor Swift's 2022 studio album Midnights is a collection of music written in the middle of the night, a journey through terrors and sweet dreams. The floors we pace and the demons we face - the stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout Taylor's life.

Reinecke / Lehtola / Komulainen - Organ Works - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

In his short life (1839-72) Eduard Adolf Tod garnered a reputation as one of the finest organists of the day Liszt praised his playing, and he gave a recital in the Royal Albert Hall in the very year of it's opening. Most of Tod's handful of works for the organ - solo and as a duo partner - have not been recorded before; here they are joined by three other little-known German organ sonatas to give an overview of the genre as it evolved from it's well-behaved Mendelssohnian origins into late-Romantic grandeur. International organ virtuoso Dr Jan Lehtola is one the most successful and progressive Finnish organists of his generation. He has appeared with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Tapiola Sinfonietta, the Lahti Symphony, Tampere Philharmonic and Ostrobothnian Chamber Orchestras and the St. Michel Strings. He has performed at many international festivals, including the Lahti Organ Festival, Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival, and the annual Festival of New Organ Music in London. He has worked with conductors including Kent Nagano, Juha Kangas, Sakari Oramo, Muhai Tang and Osmo Vänskä, amongst others. Dr Lehtola has also given recitals in leading European concert halls such as Gewandhaus in Leipzig and cathedrals and churches such as La Trinité in Paris, St. Thomas Church in Leipzig, St Paul's Cathedral and Westminster Abbey in London.
