I have an older truck and wanted to be in compliance with the law for hands free device use while driving. The technician Deion was very knowledgeable about the radio inventory products. I spent a little more money but he kept me from purchasing a product that wouldn't do what I wanted to do. He did a clean install of this radio so well it works as good and sometimes better than the factory touch screens in my other vehicles. Once he synched it with my cell phone (wire connection or bluetooth) I can now do total hands free with Voice controls for text, music, and phone calls. I would recommend this product and definetly Deion as your installer. Dynamite experience!

VERY NICE RADIO! The factory installed radio went bad after two years. Good riddance because this one is WAY better!

This kenwood stereo is a great upgrade for my 2013 Ford F-150. I love all the features ,to many to list. Also had a backup camera installed at the same time and the pictures on the screen is better than the factory screen. Definitely recommend this kenwood for the price and quality.

The DDX6705S, is a very good mid level radio, the sound capacity is way better than what I used to have in my Toyota Tacoma 2005 (crappy original radio that lower the volume and changes stations by itself), This unit has an amazing sound even at 12 low vol, its very easy to use. Now why is not a 5 star purchase rating for me??, the bad part, its not what it has but what's missing, at least you would expect screen mirroring, lower level radios have it but not this model; the kenwood app is not very good at all, WAZE app never worked, in fact during a firmware update the WAZE icon simply disappeared from the head unit, not that I missed it(Since I wasn't able to make it work properly in the first place). Everything else is great, Blutooth,CD/DVD/etc, maybe I'm just happy with the radio update, but I also installed the rearview camera and so far everything is working fine. BTW Also bought a datalink Maestro RR, because when I installed the head unit in my pick up only the front speakers were functioning for some reason?, after much internet/YouTube research found out that the Maestro could help with my problems and it did, everything is now working great!!!. So if you are thinking on buying or update and don't need WAZE or screen mirroring, this unit is a great place to star. Hope my review help you out with your decision.

I read many reviews on double-DIN car stereos before having one installed to replace the outdated factory stereo in my 2011 Honda Fit. Three models emerged from the reviews I read: 1) Sony XAV-AX5000, 2) Pioneer AVH 2330NEX, and 3) Kenwood DDX6705S. While the Sony was the only unit with a capacitive touch screen, the Pioneer offered similar audio capabilities at a budget price and the Kenwood seemed to offer even more features but at a higher price. I first opted for the Sony but this model was flawed (kept on going on standby after a few minutes; issue reported by the Geek Squad as common with the Sony units, buyer beware!). The Geek Squad technician offered to swap the defective unit with another model. Since I had read the great reviews about the Kenwood and since this model was the only one available at that location, I decided to upgrade to this unit, which added DVD player capability, Android Auto and other audio features. The installation only took 45 minutes and was done very professionally. The Kenwood unit features a resistive touch screen but the interface is very snappy and the overall interaction with the unit is very smooth. The Kenwood offers a ton of customization: button LED colors, wallpaper, choice of main icons on the home screen... More importantly, the sound is 100x better than that from my factory stereo, despite having kept the factory speakers. I can turn up the volume and enjoy all kinds of music without noticeable distortion. The DSP does a great job of conditioning the sound for a car environment. Many different adjustments are available: crossover, EQ, sound processing, ... While the number of options may seem scary at first, Kenwood did a great job of offering two levels of customization to the user: either a suggested adjustment based on the specificities of the car and speaker layout, or a much deeper level of control on any single adjustment. The handsfree mode works flawlessly. The microphone (mounted on the ceiling, above the rear-view mirror) picks up all voices in the car, regardless of the person position, and offers three levels of control: volume, echo attenuation, and noise cancellation. Connecting my Android phone was flawless and immediately detected by the unit. Android Auto starts without any hiccup. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase. I should have trusted Kenwood quality and experience in car audio over the bad Sony unit that I had initially chosen.

Great looking and sounding head unit. Best upgrade I made to date to my 2007 4Runner by far. Previously installed a Bluetooth module myself to stream from my phone to the stock head unit and that worked great. But, the sound quality of a hard wire is far superior. And controlling on the touchscreen definitely much safer than looking down at your phone. And then there's the addition of a back up camera (not included w/ head unit)...a priceless addition to any SUV without one. Carplay is awesome, gps on widescreen versus your phone is much nicer...not to mention having to deal with phone holders stuck to your windshield or dashboard and the cords hanging down. If you have steering wheel controls, spend the extra cash to purchase the steering wheel module...you won't be sorry.

Replaced the factory radio in our Solstice and this Kenwood has excellent sound, even with the top down. Gives us bluetooth phone capability for 2 phones, a wide range of audio options and even got a back up camera for it, so we can now see behind us when the top is up. Very pleased with the quality of this system and glad we chose Kenwood.

I bought this unit to upgrade the original factory radio that had very few features. This Kenwood has all of the features that are pretty much needed while driving. The hands free phone is very clear along with the radio sound. The gps works great with my Samsung Galaxy 9s as does Pandora. I had the free installation and they did a great job. It takes a bit of getting used to but I think it’s well worth it.

Love the KENWOOD stereo. That Apple play is amazing. Syncs perfectly with my iPhone. Install was good. Had the backup camera installed as well

We purchased this radio in order to be able to retrofit a backup camera, front camera & side view cameras...when you hook up your phone to the radio, you can access all your music and use whatever map guide/GPS you use on the phone...all of which display on the radio screen! The technicians at Best did all the installations of the radio, the cameras & wiring to radio, the steering wheel controls and wired in the UBS port to hook up the cell phone, all of which was free as a Total Tech member...

This stereo sounds great and works wonderfully with my Google Pixel phone. The system is easy to use. I did not buy additional speakers, I kept my stock speaks and I am very impressed with the sound. I do recommend this product. Also, the installer in the Sherman, Texas store did a fabulous job installing the system and setting it up for me.

This stereo works well for the most part. I have had issues with Android Auto not connecting, and for me to play music via Bluetooth I have to already have the spotify app open on my phone for music to play, even though the stereo shows the current song. I hope that a firmware update will let me use the native spotify and waze apps on the stereo itself, so far they don't work. Overall, the stereo is a much needed upgrade from my stock radio, I enjoy the Bluetooth and Android Auto capabilities, and the sound quality is much better than my stock radio. I've had some issues, but it was still a good buy, especially on sale.

So I got this for my wife, for her FJ Crusier - stock receiver in the FJ is pretty bad. I got this for the overall upgrade but also the Carplay. Everything installed fine, but Carplay doesn't work. If you go to Kenwood's website to support, they show only up to iphone 7 is supported!? Not cool. I did the firmware update also just to be sure, sure enough, Carplay doesn't start whether on her 8 or my XS Max. Everything else works fine, Waze apps is great for navigation on it.

This unit looks great and was an outstanding update to a slightly dated factory system. It is easily and intuitively operated, yet provides an astounding level of audio control. It integrates seamlessly with my iPhone. The only negative, in my experience, is that WAZE navigation doesn’t work. However, I’m pretty sure the problem is with the WAZE app itself, as the Apple Maps app works great. Hopefully, they will get the bugs worked out soon, and it’ll be perfect.

Powers on nicely, recieved quickly undamaged. Display is clear and detailed. The GPS work better than my factory GPS in my other vehicle. Easy installation.

Got this radio to replace/update my sound system in my car and even though I like the features it offers, it was not what I expected. It’s not too user friendly and there is no wow factor. The main reason I purchased this from Best Buy was because they offered “free installation” which is total BS. 1st to schedule an appointment, takes up to a month and then when called to schedule the appointment, they were already telling me of extra labor and parts cost up to $250 without even looking at my car. I do recommend the radio but I do not recommend the installation team at Best Buy in Pacoima.

I bought this Kenwood DDX8705S deck to replace the factory unit in my Toyota FJ Cruiser. Works well with the rear camera and steering wheel controls add on options. Controls are fairly intuitive tho to be honest in the months since install i primarily use it to integrate with my Android phone. I do like how it looks like a factory installed unit too.
