Keo - Put A Smile On For Me - VINYL LP

2014 remastered 2 X vinyl LP pressing reissue of their 2000 with 6 bonus tracks. With Smile, The Jayhawks drop yet another sizable chunk of their alt-country sound by the roadside, adding in it's place healthy doses of power pop and modern electronic music. Almost half of Smile's songs feature looped percussion, overdubbed drum tracks, or flat-out, funky backbeats. Despite the modern touches, though, the fact remains that Smile retains just enough of a distinctly Americana feeling. On InchBetter Days,Inch one of Louris' best songs, he sings with genuine regret and heartache the way he treated a long ago lover, and on InchBreak in the CloudsInch he celebrates the comforts of domestic contentment, complete with pedal steel and soaring harmonies that recall the band's landmark work Hollywood Town Hall from 1992. What never changes on The Jayhawks' albums, it seems, are the blissful melodies and well-constructed tunes.

After nearly three years, *Can You Feel It Vol. 5* marks the of a brand-new installment in Tramp Records' Disco/Boogie series. Like all four previous volumes, Vol. 5 offers a colorful mix of songs from the late 1970s and early 1980s. Let's take a closer look at a few of the songs on this album. Kicking things off are Bill Deal & The Rhondels, a band that needs no introduction. The same cannot be said for Tom Balistreri and Ryjel. The latter presents InchHeart's On Fire,Inch a seven-minute journey into previously unreleased deep disco. InchOld Mother WinterInch may not be a typical disco song, but it's undoubtedly a fantastic composition. The Stone Mill Band is relatively unknown even among hardcore collectors. The most recent track on this album is by singer Tory Wynter who already contributed a song for Can You Feel It Vol.4. InchOh Let The Rain Fall DownInch was released in 1988. The second record opens with InchBeen Thinkin' About YouInch by Avatar-an amazing song and probably the rarest gem on this album, in stark contrast to Piz-Zazz - a record you can find easily for a few dollars. Saxophonist King Perkoff was born in Santa Monica, California, but now resides in Berlin, and with InchWhen You Live In MarinInch he delivers a real disco-funk banger! Glenn InchShake & BakeInch Doughty played professional football as a wide receiver for the Baltimore Colts from 1972 to 1979. Together with some of his teammates, he founded the Shake & Bake Band in 1975. We probably aren't telling Tramp fans anything new here. Anyway, a little over two years ago, we reissued the first of their t
