About this product
Double Feature includes 2 full Instrumental albums on one CD (26 tracks total). Produced entirely by Kev Brown. The formula to Hip Hop is a simple one. Regardless of what gets added to or extracted from it, quality beats and rhymes remain the key ingredients transcending trends, technology and tastes. Low Budget's Kev Brown is one producer/MC who gets it. Like any good artist, you know what to expect from him. In an era where artists go off tangentially never seeming to return to true form, he understands the discipline to stay the course and hold fast to the lessons learned from the legends that have come before him. This ethos wins fans and builds a legacy. As any artist that endures the rigors of subjecting your creativity to the scrutiny of the public, Kev withstands the ups and downs while remaining loyal to his fans, his sound, his MPC, and, most importantly, himself. For listeners that are new Kev's bass-driven sound, this archive is the perfect place to start. And if you're already up on what Kev does on the MPC, you already know... A Daru State of Mind is a celebration of the art of production from two prolific and incredibly gifted musicians, Daru Jones and Kev Brown. It also features living legend Eddie Sancho, an engineer known for his work on classic records from Gang Starr, Nas, Jay-Z, and a host of others. This creates an air of unfiltered creativity from everyone involved, and it provides listeners with a Inchfly on the wallInch experience that's truly something to hear. Across the entirety of A Daru State of Mind, we're treated to 20 tracks that feature raw, instrumental excursions as well as some background on Daru, Kev, and Eddie. On InchDaru State of Mind,Inch for example, you first hear the mind-bending creativity of Kev as he chops up drums from Daru's sample pack. And as the music fades, you hear the collaborators show their love for one another's work and how excited they are to work together. They bring that same feeling on other instant highlights. There's the beautifully dusty InchEddie's Dream,Inch which showcases his signature mixing techniques that helped bring Premo's classic boom-bap sound to prominence. Similarly, InchFat Beats SaluteInch pays homage to both the original NYC Fat Beats and all the records coming out of the shop in the '90s. InchBeing a fan and just walking into the village location in NYC, the energy of the room was crazy,Inch Daru says. InchAnd you never knew who would pop up.Inch Album Tracks 1. We in Here 2.
