This is a small air purifier without a filter. It says it has a UV filter - but that is a UV light to kill bacteria and viruses in the air. It does not filter out pet dander or dust. Secondly, it says it will filter 550 sq feet which would probably take 24 hours. The air flow for this hand-held unit. The larger model for $300+ says that it will also filter 550 sq feet. This model will filter out air in an automobile.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
