The aluminum casing is tougher that any plastic thing. No cap to worry about. I bought this to purposely have on the keychain, in this day and age a handy flash drive is as useful as having a pocketknife with you. Only the aluminum casing works for a keychain to handle the wear and tear. Definitely recommend for keychains.

Haven't actually used this yet, but I like the design—small, sturdy, perfect for hanging off a keychain or lanyard—and I've had good luck with Kingston products in the past.

There are smaller sized (nano) flash drives out there. This is a pretty rugged design that fits great on my keychain

The design is excellent durable, but speed wise is very poor even at USB 3.0 connection. I'm a big fan of sandisk, this product does not meet the speed of that Sandisk.
