Q: Does this model with the handle have the auto door open door feature to aid with dryinfg?
A: I have the handle and yes the door does auto open when wash is complete. I turn it on before going to bed and in the morining the door is slightly open. All my dishes and plasticware are all dry !

A: The depth does include the handle, for model KDTS424SPS. Depth Closed Excluding Handles (in) 24.5" and the Depth Closed Including Handles (in) 26.75".
A: It has a basket in the bottom that periodically needs to be cleaned. Dishwasher should ALWAYS be connected to HOT water.
Q: Does this dishwasher plug into an outlet or is it hardwired?
A: Typically it is hard wired, our has a on/off switch on the wall for safety reasons, again, typically is left on there.

Our 20 year old KitchenAid dishwasher finally died on us so we needed a quick replacement. We knew we wanted another KitchenAid as ours was problem free for 2 decades and it cleaned very well. Our model was no longer available and the next closest was not available for 2 months so we opted for a lower cost model that could be delivered quickly. And it was! It arrived in 2 days and was installed that day by Best Buy. We have been very impressed with the dishwasher's performance and it is whisper quiet - our previous model sounded like a leaf blower in its final days so the silence was a nice change. It is also very easy to use and gets the dishes very clean (even better than our previous top of the line model). My wife loves the adjustable middle shelf which offers flexibility when loading dishes and we are glad we saved some money and went with the lower cost model. I removed the handle from our old dishwasher before it was hauled off so that I could try to replace it on this unit to match or other appliances but we really like the look of the new handle and will probably just keep it as is. Overall we are very satisfied with our purchase and with the Best Buy installers who got it set up for us. They even hauled off the old one.

Love my KitchenAid Dishwasher
Best dishwasher I ever bought, quiet and cleans even the most caked and crusted glass bakeware, and everything is dry, even my plastic leftover keepers ! Love that the door pops open at the end.

Excellent experience and love dishwasher
Love my dishwasher and the delivery person was excellent. Very professional, courteous, Answered questions and wasn’t in a hurry to complete the process. We felt like he was paying attention to make it a nice experience for the customer.
