A: Another vendor has a great breakdown of all the levels of the models, but there is an unlabeled version on the KitchenAid website, https://www.kitchenaid.com/major-appliances/dishwashers/third-rack.html (under STYLE Make it your own). Each includes the feature(s) of the lower level(s) plus the additional feature for that level. 404 = FreeFlex Third Rack 604 = Fan-Enabled ProDry System 704 = LED Interior Lighting 804 = Stainless Interior Accents
A: So I finally got in touch with someone at kitchenaid that was able to at least provide me some information. She said that the fan can run up to 8 hours after wash was completed or until the door is opened. I don’t think I have tried it for that long so I will let it hit 8 hrs and see if it turns off and report back
A: I was compare shopping the 404KPS and 604KPS. The big difference I saw was the "Pro-dry" feature on the 604KPS. We spent the $100 and got the 604KPS. My wife says the Pro-Dry is worth the money. She says it works very well. It dries much better than any dishwasher we have ever had.
Q: Does it have a food grinder for hard particles? Is the filter removable for cleaning?
A: Hi techno. This KitchenAid® Dishwasher does not have a food grinder. You are able to remove the filter for cleaning.
Q: can you remove third rack Flex Free
A: Yes, you can remove both upper racks and the middle one can be moved up and down. The very top rack has a utensil rack that can also be removed. We cook a lot, and both my husband and I love the way this machine loads. The company clearly has put a lot of thought into it.
A: Two different models of the same machine. One has a pocket handle and this model has a professional look bar handle with top controls.
Q: can I use this dishwasher if I only have cold water access?
A: The manual states the following: "The dishwasher has a water heating feature and also requires a connection to a hot water supply line."
A: Hi RPMM. The pump is protected from large objects entering it by the foreign object cup in the front and below the lower rack. The maintenance free filter system does not require any regular cleaning or maintenance. If this cup fills up with particles or objects, depress the tab in the center and pull up on the cup to remove it. Dispose of the contents and then replace the cup. To replace the cup, put into the opening and push down to lock in place. You can access the product help and demo pages for this unit by going to the following link: http://bit.ly/3eiskvp

I am really happy with this KitchenAid top control dishwasher. It looks great in stainless and the controls on the top give it a clean built in look. It is very quiet while running and you can barely hear it even when the kitchen is completely silent. The cleaning power is excellent. I have tested it with dried on food and baking dishes that usually need to be soaked and everything has come out spotless. The third rack is more useful than I expected for utensils, kids cups and odd shaped items and it frees up a lot of space on the lower racks. The interior layout feels solid and well made, not flimsy like some other brands we have owned. The fan assisted ProDry feature has been a big plus. Dishes come out dry, even a lot of the plastic items, so we are not standing there hand drying everything after a cycle. The price is on the higher side, but you can tell where the money goes in terms of build quality, quiet operation and performance. Overall I would absolutely recommend this model to anyone who wants a reliable, quiet dishwasher that actually cleans and dries the way it should.

I am so impressed with my KitchenAid 24 inch Built In Dishwasher. It looks sleek in stainless steel and blends perfectly into my kitchen. The 3rd rack is a game changer for organizing utensils and smaller items. The cleaning power is excellent and everything comes out spotless, even tough loads. I especially love how quiet it is at 44 dBA. You can barely tell it is running, which makes such a difference in an open kitchen. The Fan Enabled ProDry system also does a great job of drying dishes without leaving spots. It is reliable, efficient, and stylish. Definitely one of the best upgrades I have made for my kitchen.

First the positive: It is large inside, fits everything our family of four dirties in one day. It also cleans well. I usually soak dishes in some water if they'll sit around all day so any dishwasher should clean it well. Finally, it's quiet, very quiet. We've had it for two months and use it daily. My big complaint is that it doesn't have a quick wash. The 'express wash' is an hour and ten minutes. Really? And if you don't stop it right after that it goes on drying for hours. This isn't what I want. Why not a half hour cycle like my old one? It should at least be an option for those who want it. I stopped it after an hour just to see and everything was perfectly clean. Annoying. My electricity bill went up. Some efficiency standards! Things that run for longer don't save energy, they use more. Don't tell me it is more efficient, I won't believe it. One more thing - the top rack is awesome. You can actually fit a lot up there like cups and spatulas and shallow bowls.
