A: Yes, you do have to step up the voltage to 240. If you don’t, there will not be enough power to run multiple burner pads. Unfortunately, I had to hire electrician to run a wire from my fuse box, which is upstairs all the way down to where the cooktop is going to be installed. Good luck.

Terrible unit - not recommended
We bought this unit and have had nothing but problems. It has a terrible odor when we use it, like burning electrical and plastic, the touchpad is onnoxious and beeps whenever it hets wet, the burners are too small and too close together, it consumes electricity even when its off, it buzzes loudly when we use it, and Kitchenaid/Whirpool customer service jas been terrible. Dont buy this unit!! We are going to replace it with something else.
