Works with most high-quality cookware such as multi-ply stainless steel, enamelled steel or cast iron. Aluminum and copper cookware will not work unless it has a base made of iron or steel. Look for pans marked "Works with Induction" or test to see if a magnet will stick to the bottom.
Power Boost Function
Power Boost Function reaches a boil over 2.5x faster than KitchenAid electric cooktops (compared to KCES556H) by heating the selected cooking zone above the maximum power level for up to 10 minutes.

Guided Recipes in the KitchenAid App send step-by-step instructions to your cooktop, perfectly preheating your pan while you prep ingredients, then automating cook times and temperature changes, so you can expand your skills and explore new techniques with confidence. Pan Size Detection
Pan Size Detection recognizes the size and placement of cookware to generate heat directly within the pan. Display will alert you if you turn the cooktop on without a pan on the selected element or if your pan is not compatible with induction cooking.
Five Cooking Zones
Five cooking zones let you cook with up to five pans at once, empowering a variety of cooking adventures. Each of the two Even-Heat Zones can be used as one large element or two separate elements, adding versatility for griddles or two pans at once. An 11" round element fits stock pots and skillets.
