Q: Does the ksm55 have replaceable gears, and is one of the gears nylon?
A: Hi BestbuyCustomer, This model has all metal gears and is repairable.
Q: Are these new ir refurbished? What size motor?
A: Mine came brand new in the sealed factory carton. That was my concern as well. It's brand spanking new. It's much better than a tilt head model. (That's my subjective opinion.)
Q: What flex edge beater is compatible with the KSM55SXXXCU?
A: The double-edge flex beater (Model KDF7B) works perfectly.
Q: What country is this manufactured?

Q: Does this mixer come with attachments, edge beater?
A: Yes and No, NOTE: it comes with 3 attachments and one of them is steel beater but not the edge one.
Q: Does the top lift up like other KitchenAide mixers?
A: Hi Lifttop, This model does not offer the tilt-head feature.
A: The cranking noise might be a quality control issue with some looser than others. I exchanged my first and replacement was actually clanking louder - sounded broken. Thinking about a different brand now.
