Our house's original Kitchenaid microwave (2004) finally bit the dust, and we decided to replace it with another Kitchenaid to match the rest of our appliances. Our original goal was to replace it with one that would use the same trim kit, but apparently trim kits have changed enough over the last 13 years that that wasn't possible. Instead we ended up with a similar size microwave that was slightly more powerful (1500W to 1400W) with a convection feature (1700W). The button layout is almost the same but the Start and Cancel buttons are reversed; it's not a big deal but our muscle memory needs to be re-learned. :) It would also have been nice if the LCD was the same color (all of our LCDs are light blue, this new one is white). The door press requires a bit more force to open, but that's not a deal breaker either. The only real issue thus far has been the "convection roast" feature. We buy Costco rotisserie chickens and freeze them, and then put them in a covered baker in our old microwave for 25 minutes and they turn out great. We thought the "convection roast" feature might cook them both faster and better (crispier on the outside), so we tried it for 25 minutes. The bird was unfortunately still frozen solid, so we went back to our old method. It actually still took slightly more than 25 minutes to properly heat it up, so we aren't sure exactly what 25 minutes of "convection roast" actually accomplished. But, we are willing to chalk it up to not understanding the feature, and try it again sometime.

My original KitchenAid microwave was 16 years old and still worked great. i replaced it only because the coating on the inside was wearing down to the metal and the inside was rusting. I purchased this model hoping it will have the same durability as the previous one. I didn't need the convection and grill features of this microwave but purchased this model because it was only $50. more and I liked that the inside of it is stainless. The door is slightly misaligned but doesn't affect it's operation. Also there is a humming noise that is present when you first start it but it quits a few seconds after it gets going. I can't speak to the convection or grilling feature because I haven't used it and most likely won't. Was able to use the old trim kit but only after a lot of adjusting of the unit because the door wouldn't clear the top of the trim kit we needed to set the unit out a bit more, so the unit doesn't set flush with the cabinet like the old unit but it looks ok. The trim kit that's recommended for this microwave is too wide for the cabinet so that wasn't an option.

This microwave / convection oven is the best appliance we have purchased! It's great as a microwave, but even better as a convection oven, without all the heat of a conventional oven!

I little deeper than I would have liked but very easy to use. It has a lot of features.

I bought this as a replacement for an old Kitchenaid which bought the farm after 17 years. This one is a definite upgrade with its convection ability (which works really well) and sleek stainless interior. It's quiet, powerful and looks nice too. I'm very happy with my purchase.

We've had this convection microwave for a couple of months. We've used the microwave, convection oven, and grill features. All features worked as expected. The controls are easy to figure out without having to read the owner's manual. The convection feature is especially helpful for cooking smaller items like baked potatoes.

This is a great microwave with quality inside and out. This is the best microwave for quality, ease of use in my opinion. They are constantly out of stock because they are so popular

Love that this matches my other stainless appliances perfectly. The convection feature is great for browning. The size is perfect...not too big and bulky but big enough to cook anything I want.

This microwave seems to take at least 50% more time to do it's job than previously owned units. I wanted a microwave/oven combination and the choices were few under $800. The thing I don't like the most, is the latch release to open the door. I would prefer a traditional handle. I hesitate to recommend this product, however, it was way under $800.

Even cooking. Like its versatility. Mostly use for reheating dinner plates. Does good job baking cookies and toasting sandwiches. Have not roasted anything yet. Keypads not sensitive enough.

I've been using this microwave for a couple of weeks and it has been fine; however I do miss the feature on other microwaves that have pre-programed time periods set at one minute intervals.

It is too early to say. Working fine for 2 weeks. Still trying to figure out some of the functions. Wish it was easier to use.

I love my vacations because I have a full size microwave/confection oven in RV. I didn't have room at home for a full size, but this counter size one is perfect. It does everything I want. I'm glad my microwave finally bit the dust so I could get this one.

Using this as work. Everyone loves the features this microwave has! Even better, got it as an Open Box deal so that made it even more of a value.

The buttons aren't as easy to press as my last one. Other than that I think it does a fine job not to noisy. Not as sturdy as our last one was a frigidaire
