Questions & Answers
  • I have a Yamaha 5.1 home theater receiver rated at 150 watts per channel at 6 ohms. How will these work with that amp?

These speakers can be run off of this receiver but we strongly recommend using a receiver/amplifier that supplies ~150 Watts at 8 Ohms to drive these speakers. If you are adamant about keeping your existing receiver, we'd suggest considering the R-600F! This model will still give you a lot of dynamic range and output, while being a bit more compatible with the power rating of your receiver.

  • My father gifted me his audio setup that he bought while we lived in Madrid Spain in the 70s. The receiver is a Kenwood KR 10000ii, would you recommend this setup? I have a Reel to Reel, Turntable and 8 track setup all purchased at the same time.

From what I could find on that model of receiver, it supplies "60 watts per channel into 8Ω (stereo)". The R-800F has a power handling of 150 Watts at 8 Ohms and should be connected to a receiver/amplifier that supplies close to this. The Kenwood KR 10000ii would be better suited for the R-600F. You will get cleaner audio and less chance for distortion.
