It’s good so far & I can brighten up the negative. I’ve found a way to use negatives that you don’t have a holder for. My sister got it for her slides.

It has been so great to bring old photos back to life.

I’ve scanned almost 6,000 frames of 135 negatives successfully. I wish the unit had automatic rather than manual color correction to deal with the greenish or orangish distortion of 1960s-early 1970s Color film, but I’m able to correct correct in photo editing software. The Scanza was easier to use than expected.

I've had a lot of trouble getting this scanner to work. If I can resolve the issue, I will raise the rating to 5 stars, because when it is working, it's great. Once you set up your image with the right adapter, it works quickly and the scans are high quality. You do have to use an SD card for the Scanza to operate. The problem is that my device keeps freezing with the display showing vertical green lines down the image. The only way to move forward at this point is to disconnect the power and then reboot the device. Unfortunately, this happens sometimes after every few images. I have contacted the company to see if the power cord may be defective or if I'm doing something wrong. BTW this is a product of C&A Marketing using the Kodak name under license.

The Scanza does a good job on slides. It is easy and fast to get the image but the image editing is pretty basic. So I find that after digitizing the slides I still need to put them on my computer to do final color and lighting adjustments. I haven't tried film yet.

Takes very high quality scans quickly. The attachments/adaptors work well. It would be nice if the settings were saved after power down but instead you have to set them each time. You can run off the power from the USB port of a desktop while scanning even though it seems like the instructions don't make this very clear. Being able to adjust the brightness and color levels compensates for those old slides that have shifted in color/hue over time which makes this a complete tool that is all you will need.

I can across some old negatives that I wanted to scan but not invest a ton of $$ just for a few memories. This unit can handle negatives and slides without a lot of setup issues.Very quick on scanning and the results are decent. If you simply want to scan old negatives and slides for family use this will work well.

I was some what apprehensive after reading a few of the reviews but if you are an amature looking for something to digitalize your old film negatives look no further! This thing is giving me better results than the original photos I got from Walgreens. I never realized that I wasn’t getting the full photo but there are parts of the negative around the edges that do not get included in developed photos that I have. I also sent some in to Walgreens to be developed that I have scanned and they come back sharper and brighter than the original photos. I have mostly 35 mm but also have some old 110 negatives and the Scanza has performed flawlessly!

I got mine primarily for scanning in old 35mm color film negative strips and slides. Works very well. Some options for optimizing the scans and color once you get used to the menus and sequence (doesn't take long). Some of my scans will be used in publications. Scanned images are fairly crisp and good color. My only complaint is you can't scan directly to your PC. It scans to an internal SD card, user supplied, then transferred by a USB cable to the PC. An extra step, but no real biggie.

Easy to use. I used the scanner with a 128 GB SD card (not included). Worked great digitizing 3500 35mm slides. Quality product.

I purchased my BB Scanza and received it safely thru UPS. All details were in the box along with a ‘small print’ manual. I downloaded the manual “Kodak-Scanza-KODFS35-Manual.pdf” from the support tab at: https://www.kodakphotoplus.com/pages/download-user-manuals. [30 pgs] English. Other languages are in the Paper book. All type and diagrams are typical of 3rd party, 3rd world manufactures, very small. Use Acrobat to enlarge the type. I’m not going to inform you about using anything but the 35 mm Color Slide option. There are other reviews (not to good) on using the film types (Film gets scratched in the carriers I hear). Good luck. Follow the setup first. If you have a HDMI TV use that over the viewer or use your big screen TV if the HDMI cable is long enough. I used a 32GB SD memory card, worked fine. I used the #1 adapter (use the #3 if your slide film carrier is the thicker or plastic type). You get to select between 14 and 22 MB scans. They are both 14 MB but the 22 is an upscalled/interpolation image like TV’s use. My 18 Images = 75 MB. Using the 22 MB option I get a .JPG picture that averages 4.3 MB at 5728 x 3824 at 72 dpi, sharpness –A bit Soft ???, bit depth is 24, All settings on -Auto-, remember your mileage may vary based on the image. Follow the instruction on having the shiny side of the film Up, and the Image in the "Viewed" position. Number sequence starts at 000001, Remove the drive images to go back to #1. And orient the direction of the film so you need not have to edit it on the machine. Insert with the image showing correctly up and L/R correct the first time. Watch for flipped images from the developer, like backwards Text and Steering wheels on the wrong side, Etc. I used the ‘AUTO’ feature in Settings and let it decide. You may also choose to group like contrasts of the slides to reduce changing that each time. If the colors are still off that can also be modified, once again place those in groups. Get a can of “Dust Off” to blow off the dirt and stuff in the unit and on the slides. I had over a thousand slides to scan, most people do and use this product to do that. For higher resolution and more adjustments use a Flat Bed Scanner, they are much more taylorable. And make sure you get one that does negatives if your going to do them also. I only scanned Positives. Turn the power on last and off first to protect the scanner. I had to turn the scanner on then the HDMI set to get it to sync most of the time. I had two old scans come back from the dead, so don’t hurry the transfers but I was using 3 software packages to create my Data.

It took a while to figure it out, but now that it's set up, the scanner is very quick and the images are just fine. It requires a chip to store the images, and you need to use the chip to transfer them to your computer, which is a bit of a bore. Also, some of my slides are a little thick, some are bound. Those either won't go into the tray at all or get stuck in the tray. It would be helpful if the tray for the slides was a little deeper. Also you have to push each slide through the tray with another slide if you want to go through a bunch of images. Seems like there should be an easier way.

I was faced recently with figuring out what to do with the thousands of slides and negatives my father left after he passed. He was a photographer and always had a camera at any family event. I thought I would have to pay a lot to have a camera shop transfer them all to digital. Then I bought the Scanza. In the last week I have transferred over 1300 slides and negatives to digital, and the process is easy and fun. The Scanza is very simple to use; just read the directions first and get started. The adapter trays are very helpful, but I was also able to scan very old slides from the mid-1940's that were too thick to fit into the adapter tray, and some Kodak Brownie negatives that were also oversized. I would highly recommend this unit.

I was apprehensive regarding this purchase as to how well it was going to work but was pleasantly surprised by the ease of use, quality, and versatility of the media it was able to handle. It put a smile on my face as I was able to consolidate all the different types of film negatives and slides from the past 40+ years onto different digital storage devices so that they can be permanently preserved and easily viewed over and over again!

This scanner is great. Not only are the scanned images clear looking on the display screen but they look great when I viewed them on my laptop. I haven't printed them yet but I am extremely satisfied. It is very tedious sliding the film through but its definitely worth it. I'm not a professional photographer but it has been my hobby for over 30 years and I have lots of film I can't do anything with, up until now anyway.

In my professional life I was a records manager. Archival was the main job. The Kodak Scanza is the perfect film scanner for home scanning projects. Price is perfect for any budget. You can scan slides & strip film negatives and save to jpg format. Lots of settings for good exposure results. Be patient on sliding film through. It takes a tad practice. I’m getting ready to teach a class on how to archive precious photos for family. I Highly recommend this scanner. You’ll need to order it online through Best Buy. Also order the memory card and hand air blower (removes specs off of film gently).

I got this initially thinking I could use it to digitize a super 8 film, but it doesn't do that. I have used it for slides and film negatives and it does that very well. I did attach a TV screen to it to help with seeing the images better. Overall, I am pleased with the purchase.

Easy to use after getting used to the buttons. Once you learn the buttons and the process of converting, it's pretty easy to get in a groove and convert your slides. The pictures turned out well enough to print and for electronic slide shows.

Incredible product for price point. I’ve seen a lot of complaints about the resolution not being very high but those reviews are stinky. This is a great tool for casual film photographers, who are looking for an easy and cost effective way to review their photography after being developed without spending their life savings on a film scanner
