About this product
Korpses Katatonik was a musical solo project of Zoe DeWitt during the years 1982 and 1983. Unlike DeWitt's later project Zero Kama, the work of Korpses Katatonik remains entirely within the realm of electronic music and shows an uncompromising experimental style comparable to that of other industrial bands like Throbbing Gristle, SPK, or Cabaret Voltaire. Like many other exponents of industrial culture Korpses Katatonik was inspired by dark psychiatry, pathological abnormalism, necrophilia, and other types of paraphilic aberration. These served as a metaphor for the dark side of a dehumanized society that seeks to maintain control by the suppression of anything that could be regarded as dark, sinister, deviant, or unpleasant from the viewpoint of popular mass culture. As a means of escape from this totalitarian pressure - thus a statement by Korpses Katatonik - there remains only self-destruction, murder, or the withdrawal into catatonic schizophrenia. Korpses Katatonik's first was a Nekrophile Rekords cassette entitled subklinikal leukotomy aphrenia spasmophiik lyssophobo asphyxia sinister lethal anorex. The titles on the album were shatok, schmertzlabor, enzephallik mortuor, nekom, kcok transzlant, kaltfleisch corporor, skarzisko and okzipital slash. The terminology of psychopathological disorders was used by Korpses Katatonik in a subversive way for it's own poetic value and many of the rare vocals and track titles (as for example shatok, enzephallik mortuor and kaltfleisch corporor) were taken from writings of patients of Viennas famous psychiatrist hospital in Maria Gugging (dissolved in 2007). The title skarzisko refers to a national socialist concentration camp in the Polish town Skarzysko-Kamienna. The upcoming influence of occultism within the postindustrial underground of the 1980s is finally reflected in the last track of Korpses Katatonik, Choronzon, wh

What is best in death metal? Cool riffs and awesome vocals. Pounding drums and lyrics about horror movies. With their sophomore full-length, InchThose of the MorbidInch, LEPER COLONOY deliver exactly what any adherent of classic death metal craves. This is hardly a surprise, given the scene icons behind this international act LEPER COLONY came out of the wedding of German and Swedish death metal styles with classic American influences. This happened, when German vocalist Marc Grewe and Swedish guitarist Rogga Johansson decided to expand their friendship of many years and mutual love for old school death metal into creating an album together in 2020. The duo enlisted CONSUMPTION drummer Jon Skäre and lead-guitarist Kjetil Lyngahug (PAGANIZER) to record their self-titled debut album, which was released in 2023. The record was well received by critics and fans alike as it was obviously not just another 'super project', but a congregation of die-hard death metal fanatics coming up with a host of fresh ideas. German vocalist Marc Grewe has long-established his name as the former frontman of MORGOTH, and later with INSIDIOUS DISEASE as well as with the band ASINHELL. Guitarist and bass player Rogga Johansson has left a massive mark on Swedish death metal in a host of bands including PAGANIZER, RIBSPREADER, and REVOLTING. WOMBBATH guitarist Hakan Stuvemark has taken over lead guitar as a new member and he was joined by British drummer Jon Rudin, who is well-known from MONSTROUS and DEAD SUN among several other death metal acts. With InchThose of the MorbidInch, LEPER COLONOY give old school death metal fanatics the very brutal and uncompromising album that they have been waiting for! Album Tracks 1. Facing the Faceless 2. Master's Voice 3. The Age of Insanity 4. Flesh to Rot to Ashes 5. Realm of Madness 6. Those of the Morbid Inclination 7. Apocalypse Whor

Montréal's Phobocosm continue their career-spanning collaboration with Dark Descent Records with third full-length Foreordained. Foreordained is an amalgamation of everything that came before it. A perfectly balanced fusion of the murky death metal depravity of debut Deprived, blended with the devastating doom of Bringer Of Drought. Remarkably, this was the plan all along InchWhen we wrote Deprived, we decided that our first three albums would be a trilogy, so Foreordained is the last chapter of that trilogy. We made a conscious effort to pace all three albums in a similar manner, since we wanted them to be linked-starting with a slow, crushing doom song and concluding with a long, epic, depressive one. It's not a coincidence,Inch reveals guitarist Samuel Dufour. As their genre of choice would suggest, Foreordained's lyrical concepts are about death, as well as the futility of denying one's inherent mortality. Hence the name of the album; meaning predestined, inevitable InchSince death is unavoidable, the end of all life and of our planet is also unavoidable, so there are apocalyptic themes also. The closer 'For an Aeon' is about a possible way the world as we know it could end.Inch Wrapped in artwork by the inimitable Lauri Laaksonen of Desolate Shrine, Convocation and Pestilent Hex fame, Foreordained is set to be a 2024 death metal highlight. Album Tracks 1. 1. Premonition 2. 2. Primal Dread 3. 3. Everlasting Void 4. 4. Infomorph 5. 5. Revival 6. 6. for An Aeon
