After 8 years, he returns to Warp with Kinds - an expansive, intuitive work written following the birth of his daughter, exploring the restorative power of sound and colour.Kinds marks another departure for Kwes that sees him search again for the outer reaches of music's solar system. Made after a reset following a period of burnout, the record blends ambient and classical composition while rubbing up against the rougher textures of shoegaze. Vinyl LP pressing. 2013 debut album from British producer, songwriter and musician Kwesi Sey AKA Kwes. He describes his own musical style as 'Free-Pop' which he defines as 'pop songs or music that can go anywhere, and they can sometimes be very noisy, very quiet or somewhere in between. It's more an ever-changing creative processes with a few constants than a musical style.'

Songs for Midi is the first new solo music in 4 years from producer Kwes. Since he released his album ilp in 2013 Kwes has been keeping extremely busy behind the scenes, producing for, collaborating with and being sampled by the likes of Solange, NAO, Hudson Mohawke and Pusha T. In addition to providing production work for Kelela's Take Me Apart he also mixed the entire album.
