- Description: Bach Christmas Cantatas / Kuijken, Van Der Crabben, Suh, Genz, Noskaiova, Bach, J.s. / Suh / Noskaiova / Van Der Crabben, Date 11/22/2011. Composer Johann Sebastian Bach, Performer Christoph Genz, Jan Van der Crabben, Petra Noskaiová, Yeree Suh, Conductor Sigiswald Kuijken, Orchestra/Ensemble La Petite Bande, Number of Discs 1. Here is Volume 14, the latest entry in Sigiswald Kuijken's series, InchCantatas for the Complete Liturgical Year.Inch It's a Christmas package, which reached me in time for the season, but unfortunately too late for the end-of-year issue. With a half-dozen complete or pending cantata series now on the market, we can't say that any of these cantatas are hard to come by, but most are available only in the complete sets. Kuijken's series, unfortunately limited to 20 volumes, is intended to demonstrate the validity of Rifkinesque chamber-sized performances. Crucial to the mission is the vocal quartet, and, again, Kuijken has a good one. There are relatively short opening choruses in Cantatas 91 and 122 and closing chorales in the four cantatas, all confidently executed by the singers. As soloists, tenor Christoph Genz and alto Petra Noskaiová have limited responsibilities-a single aria and a single recitative apiece-all done in fine style. Noskaiová also pairs superbly with soprano Gerlinde Sämann in a duet in BWV 91 that deserves wider exposure. Sämann and bass Jan Van der Crabben have more to do, especially in BWV 57, a dialog cantata. Sämann could be a little more forceful in her second aria in BWV 57, but she is particularly effective in it's gentler first aria and in the long opening aria of Cantata 151. Van der Crabben is solid throughout. Kuijken and his Bande are top-notch, as expected. For listeners who prefer their Bach chamber-style, this should be an automatic selection. For others, it will offer an opportunity to compare and r

Straight from the backseat of a tinted SUV and into the headphones of every die-hard fan from the West Side to the coast, Lucki returns with Dr*gs R Bad-a title that's half-ironic, half-exhausted, and 100% Tune. This isn't a PSA; it's a high-speed, low-pass filtered look at a life where the designer denim is heavy and the heart is even heavier. Drowning in those signature ethereal, space-trap melodies that sound like a 4 00 AM fever dream, Lucki trades his usual nonchalance for a raw, Inchout of luckInch transparency that reminds his cult following why he's the undisputed king of the heartbreak flex. It's the soundtrack for the late-night drives and the Incheverything's a movieInch lifestyle where the credits are starting to blur, proving once again that nobody captures the beautiful, nihilistic chaos of the climb quite like Neptune.2xLP, Widespine Jacket, Black Vinyl Album Tracks 1. Limited vinyl LP repressing in gatefold jacket. Off the Wall is the fifth solo studio album by Michael Jackson. It was released on August 10, 1979, following Jackson's critically well-received film performance in The Wiz. While working on that project, Jackson and Quincy Jones had become friends, and Jones agreed to work with Jackson on his next studio album. Recording sessions took place between December 1978 and June 1979 at Allen Zentz Recording, Westlake Recording Studios, and Cherokee Studios in Los Angeles, California. Jackson collaborated with a number of other writers and performers such as Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder and Rod Temperton. Five singles were released from the album. It was his first solo under Epic Records, the tag he would record on until his death roughly 30 years later. Album Tracks 1. Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough 2. Rock with You 3.
