About this product

After tackling an electronic symphony with InchOInch, his first album, French pianist and producer Laake returns with InchVOLTInch, a vast and solar opus against the current tides of the electronic music scene. Danger is what drives Laake. After tackling an electronic symphony with InchOInch, first album released in 2020 on Mercury and two EPs released in 2015 and 2017, French pianist and producer Laake returns with InchVOLTInch, a vast and solar opus against the current tides of the electronic music scene. The piano loops, spearhead of the musician, collide with the percussions and drums - great novelties of this album - in a progressive and mastered deluge. The album's energy easily navigates through electronic and classical dimensions, flirting with organ sounds, powerful basses and polyphonic voices, all witnesses of the urgency arising from each track. Recorded with 10 musicians from the classical and jazz worlds between Paris and Brussels, the 10 tracks that make up the album succeed one another but do not sound alike... Carried by the irresistible need for the musicians to surprise us. Yet InchVOLTInch, Laake's second studio album, was initially imagined as a piano solo record, a collection of hundreds of snippets of melodies recorded and carefully preserved over the last ten years by Laake. History decided otherwise InchDuring the recording of the first piece of the album, barefoot, I suffered an electrocution, or rather an electrification, the first one being fatal, by touching with my arm a luminous sconce of doubtful confection. Expelled backwards by the shock, persuaded to live my last moments, I noticed several minutes later the multiple burns appearing on my body, bewildered. A visit to the hospital followed and a psychological trauma that would last more than a year, unable to touch a switch or screw in a light bulb. The current had gone through me but

Dan Deacon - Spiderman Of The Rings - VINYL LP

Dan Deacon has garnered a reputation in the underground as an intense performer and classic showman. The table top full of pedals, a sine wave generator, vocoder and casio blasting through the PA, joined by a makeshift light board with various bulbs and green skull strobe light, make his all out dance-til-you-drop performance a complete experience. But it isn't all fancy feet and bouncy beats. Deacon is a classically trained composer with a Masters degree in electro-acoustic composition. His latest full length, Spiderman of the Rings is the first album bridging the gap between party performer and genuine composer. A mixture of his live show dance anthems, intricate instrumentals and humorous monologues, Spiderman of the Rings establishes Dan Deacon as a new type of entertainer in the contemporary underground.1. Selke - Waende - VINYL LP

Hybrid' is a word that has always been vital to Ceeys' vocabulary, but it's application is not limited to the manner in which cellist Sebastian Selke and his brother, pianist Daniel Selke, combine their two instruments so harmoniously. Instead, like the duo's very name - which merges the words 'violoncelle' and 'keys' - it is reflective of their overall aesthetic, one in which they integrate the many ingredients that have helped shape them as both musicians and people. Ceeys' idiosyncratic style is characterized by a rather reduced approach to composition and improvisation. In exploiting their knowledge of songwriting, textures and repetitive patterns, they create an experimental but accessible minimalism between avant-garde and pop that incorporates elements of jazz, ambient and classical chamber music. A product as much of the music with which they grew up as of that which now surrounds them, and as much indebted to their childhood environment as to that in which they now live, Concrete Fields is the first part of a planned trilogy and - certainly not by accident - it was released in the very year that marked the 100th anniversary of the Russian Revolution of 1917. Through this conscious process of coming to terms with the prefab estate in which they were raised - Europe's largest, located in the district of Marzahn-Hellersdorf - the brothers create music that at times feels familiar, but which remains refreshingly, invigoratingly unique, thereby mirroring the myriad sounds to which they have been exposed throughout their lives. Currently, Ceeys is presenting their third album WÆNDE at the Berlin tag Neue Meister. Here, they focus on the remembrance of 1989, a year which brought many changes.
