About this product
Because the HD-BNC (also known as Micro-BNC) is rapidly gaining popularity in the broadcast industry, it is increasingly being used in high-performance equipment such as the Harris Selenio broadcast routers and devices like the Gennum GS3440 Equalizer and GX3290 Crosspoint. This Laird HDBNC1855 10' Belden 1855A RG59 HD-BNC Male to BNC Male 6G-SDI Cable is designed to deliver exceptional 75-ohm performance, featuring a compact footprint that is 51% smaller than traditional BNC connectors. This reduction in size allows for four times the connector density, making it ideal for space-constrained applications.Engineered to optimize both electrical and mechanical performance, the HD-BNC connector incorporates the reliable push-and-turn interface of traditional BNC connectors. This design provides tactile feedback and a secure lock, ensuring quick and reliable connections. The transition to HD-BNC is seamless, as it utilizes the same cable preparation and termination specifications as legacy broadcast connectors. One of the standout features of the HD-BNC connector is its superior performance in minimizing variable return loss and mechanical bonding issues, which are often encountered with mini-BNC and DIN 1.0 / 2.3 connectors. The HD-BNC connectors meet or exceed the stringent SMPTE 292M and SMPTE 424M specifications for return loss, ensuring high-quality signal transmission. Additionally, the dielectric has been extended on the jack to enhance the mechanical strength of the center contact without compromising return loss performance. The connectors also feature a robust, anti-splay outer diameter to prevent any unwanted movement or "wiggle," ensuring a stable and reliable connection.
